Part of the first phase of the redevelopment of Edinburgh’s Old Royal Infirmary, the stunning Quartermile development is in a wonderful location a short walk from Edinburgh’s Old Town, on the edge of Middle Meadow walk. The development blends harmoniously with the historic buildings of the Royal Infirmary, the stunning new buildings are set in 7 acres of landscaped grounds on the edge of the lovely green spaces of the Meadows. A good selection of shops, bars and restaurants are to be found in the locality, including a tempting Swedish Bakery/Coffee shop on the ground floor as well as a Sainsbury’s Local for your everyday needs.

This light and spacious apartment, with lift service, is situated on the 2nd floor of the building and offers wonderful views over middle Meadow Walk to a group of Georgian buildings with Salisbury Crags in the distance. A large open plan living/dining/kitchen area is the focal point of the apartment. Furnished with modern classics this room has floor to ceiling windows, plenty of comfortable leather seating and a wonderful stone dining table and chairs. The kitchen area is both practical and elegant and provides all that is required should visitors wish to spend a quiet evening at home in luxurious surroundings. A large flat screen TV with DVD and CD player, together with Wi-Fi, are provided. There is also a double sofa bed in this room which provides maximum flexibility of sleeping accommodation. The apartment is wheelchair accessible, but the showers are over baths, so please call for more information before booking if you have special requirements

The master bedroom has a peaceful ambience and is furnished with zip and link beds which can be arranged as a super king or twins on request, a third pull out bed suitable for a child is also available and there is excellent built in cupboard space provided. A beautiful designer en-suite bathroom with bath and shower over, w.c and wash hand basin adds to the superior level of comfort.

The second bedroom is also generously proportioned and has a king-size bed and plenty of storage space.

A second good sized bathroom also offers a bath with shower over, lots of mirrored cupboards and a wash hand basin and WC.

Laundry facilities are provided in a utility cupboard in the hallway which houses a washer-dryer and iron and ironing board.

The apartment has one designated parking space and there is supplementary parking for a second car available at NCP


Sleeping Arrangements

1 bedroom with king size bed and 1 bedroom with twin beds (or a super king on request). There is also a pull out bed suitable for a child.


Exterior

Due to the rules of the factors of this building, we are not permitted to have a key safe at this property. We therefore use a nearby Key Nest facility for the key collection. As a result, it is very important that you let us know how you are travelling to Edinburgh, and your expected time of arrival, so we can choose the most convenient place for you to pick up the keys. The options are Waverley train station, Ibis Hotel Hunter Square or U-Save convenience store on Lothian Road. You will be sent a Key Nest code 48 hours prior to your arrival which you will need to quote to the member of staff at the Key Nest facility to obtain the keys.

Great Trip

As described and pick up of the keys went very smooth, came into train station and keys were there at a pick up spot, easy peezy. Location is great, coffe shops right below as well as a small convenience store to grab some things for the fridge and snacks . I will note that the flat faces the university and the main walking path that most everyone uses, you may hear some noise at night , but that didn’t bother us as I have an white noise app that I turned on.

Location location!

This suite was as advertised. It had a large open conceot living room, kitchen, and dinning room. Bedrooms located at seperate ends of unit. 20 min walk from Waverley train station. Castle and Royal Mile only a 6 to 7 minute walk. Small grocery on ground level was a bonus. Lots of pubs and restaurants close by.

Fabulous property in great location. View from living room is so nice and restful. Clearly the host has put a lot of thoughtful consideration into the facilities. Spacious, comfortable great for families with direct access to its own secure parking, 2 minutes from Edinburgh University and 10-15minutes easy walk from all the main places in Edinburgh. Lots of facilities and restaurants nearby and gives you the feel good factor that you wouldn’t get in a hotel. One bedroom can hear students on their way home at the weekend but otherwise super peaceful. Would stay again.

We were so pleased with the location of the apartment. It was right upstairs from a great coffee shop and had a small grocery store in the same building. Located near the University of Edinburgh, and a short walk to all of the sites. It was great!

Great place that is within walking distance to everything

This place is in a perfect location to explore the core of the ancient city. Walked to the Royal Mile within 10-15 minutes. Loads of shops and restaurants close by. Having the Sainsbury and Starbucks essentially right outside the front door made it super easy to get food. Place is spacious and clean. Would recommend.

Family trip

Excellent accommodation, very clean, modern and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Ideal location in quiet area near University and Meadows with short walk to city centre. We travelled by car so appreciated accommdation had an allocated parking space. Enjoyed our stay.

Great Grad Location

Great location, comfortable apartment

We highly recommend this property. The only drawback for us was no air conditioning, which was easily remedied by opening windows. However, night times can be quite noisy as this location is occupied by a lot of students. This location is walking distance to all of the Edinburgh attractions, bars, cafes and a small grocery. Perfect!

Spacious, clean and convenient

With a Sainsbury's grocery store in the building and a well-equipped kitchen, we were right at home for a week- long visit. And, with Old Town just steps away, we could see the sites with ease. We took the tram from the airport and picked up the keys at Waverly Station, and checkout required leaving the keys in the mail slot - simple and easy! Overall, a great experience.

Perfect flat!

We spent 10 wonderful days in Edinburgh.... The flat was super clean, the kitchen fully equipped, the beds comfortable and the furnishings really great - we felt right at home. The supermarket, which is in the house, and the two cafes, which are also on the ground floor of the property, were particularly practical. The location of the flat is really sensational, you can be in the hustle and bustle of the old town in 3 minutes on foot. I would like to emphasise the good communication with our host, the "Edinburgh Holiday Accoomodation". Everything was perfectly organised, from the organisation of the keys to the intermediate cleaning and departure. We will definitely be back!

Amazing spot, loved it!!!

All 4 of us loved this space!! It’s as described in the listing. The openness of living, dining and kitchen was comfortable. The rooms large and comfy. Windows open for fresh air. It was a bit loud due to being near a campus, but this didn’t bother any of us. Having a grocery and coffee below was a bonus. Able to walk to many of the sights we wanted to experience which was great. Public transportation was easy to navigate, we used it to go meet friends. There is a large step out of both tubs, they do have a step stool that seemed sturdy- just be cautious.

Beautiful property but noisy at night.

The property was amazing! Even nicer than the photos. The property manager was extremely nice and provide all the information I needed. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it was very noisy outside the front bedroom window all hours of the day and night - even at 3:30 am! It’s located next to Edinburgh University and students seemed to be partying outside my window all night long. I’m a very light sleeper and therefore I got no sleep. I was told that that we couldn’t make noise after 10:00 pm because it was a residential neighborhood.

Great apartment, best location in Edinburgh

This is a very modern and clean apartment. It was spacious and comfortable for a family of four, and well appointed for things like cooking and laundry. The windows provide great views and a huge amount of natural light -- very pleasant to wake up in the morning and see what's happening out on the Meadows Walk. The location is maybe the best possible in Edinburgh -- I've been to the city maybe five times: it is just a short walk to the castle and downtown attractions, next door to a cafe and grocer, and right next to the Meadows if you or your kids want to get some exercise on the lawns, playground, or tennis courts. Staff was very responsive when I had an issue with the hot water boiler and heating. The only thing I'd clarify in the description is that the beds are UK kings (equivalent to American queens), not American kings. Overall, fantastic and would stay again.

Great Flat and Great Location

Flat was great! Good location and well appointed! Very spacious for a family of 4. Rental company was timely in responding. Flat was so close to the University, Sandy Bell’s (great local musicians), the Greenmarket and wonderful shops and restaurants. Only one recommendation, maybe leave the parking key card with the flat keys. There is nowhere to unload and we received a £100 parking fine in a matter of less than 2 minutes. Admittedly, it was a no parking zone but having never driven in the UK before we missed the sign that said “no loading” (it was only about 30cmX15cm). When we left it was very convenient to load and unload via the lift to the parking space. Overall, I would highly recommend the flat. We hope to be back to beautiful Scotland one day soon.

Great location, loved the view with 5 floor to ceiling windows. No AC but it was cool at night so not an issue.Apartment was very warm in the afternoon. Nice Kitchen with everything you would need if you wanted to cook. TV didn't work, cable was not reliable, flixed off and on, no local channels set. There is a washing machine. NO DRYER as mentioned in the listing. We ended up going to a local place to have our laundry done. The drying rack provided would only hold four items of clothing. Check is process is a disaster. You have to go to an IBIS right off the Royal Mile to get the apartment key. Our GPS took us down the Royal mile to the location. You then have to go to the apartment to get the garage pass, then back to the car to pull into the garage. This cannot be done by one person. You have to have someone to get the keys at IBIS and the apartment while the other waits in the car as there is no place to park. If the host would simply have the parking pass with the apartment keys and have a pickup near the apartment and not in the busiest area on Edinburgh, this would be a great place to rent. OTW I would look elsewhere.

Fantastic!

This is a perfect location for visiting Edinburgh as it is very easy to walk to the tourist sites, but isn’t right in the middle of them. It is located in a secure building which has two great coffee shops on the main level, and is on a beautiful tree-lined walking path that extends to the university and beyond to Edinburgh’s historical area on one end, and the more local and quaint shops on the other. The suite is lovely, and us quite well stocked for cooking and eating in if that’s your preference. A few things are missing that we would add, such as a sink stopper for the kitchen sink, paper towels and tissues, but otherwise the suite was stocked sufficiently. The beds are comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The TV was mostly local stations, even using the satellite option. A few movies would be nice, but we were so busy it wasn’t really an issue. We would also suggest that the instructions for using Virgin entertainment should include a line directing the user to change the input source on the tv. However, when we asked the property manager for help they came right over the next morning. The property is managed by a third party, and they were excellent to deal with in all respects; they promptly answered queries, and were respectful and always responsive to try to resolve any minor issues. We highly recommend this property for your stay in Edinburgh!
