The Space:
Willow Cottage has a welcoming and homely living room. Featuring original beams and an exposed brick fireplace, there is a traditional and cosy feel. The ideal spot to snuggle up with your loved ones after a day of exploring, you can get comfortable on the sofa and turn on the flat screen TV to keep up with your favourite shows.

The property benefits from a spacious open plan kitchen diner. Fully equipped, the kitchen includes a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, oven, hob, kettle, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. You can enjoy home cooked meals together at the dining table which has seating for four.
Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find two bedrooms and the family bathroom. The master bedroom features a zip and link Super King bed which can be made up as twin beds if this is more suitable for your stay and the second bedroom is a double. Both bedrooms have a tranquil feel and premium bedding to ensure you have the best sleep possible. Modern and large, the family bathroom has a walk-in shower, bathtub, WC and basin.
Outside you’ll find a fully enclosed garden with a patio, outdoor dining area and a garden arbour seat. A great place to soak up the sun during your stay, it’s an added bonus to Willow Cottage.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
There is free on street parking outside the property on a first come, first served basis. Alternatively, there is a pay and display long stay car park in Helmsley and full details will be sent to you prior to your arrival.
The Neighborhood:
Willow Cottage is located in the beautiful town of Helmsley. The only market town in the North York Moors National Park, it is a charming place to stay and provides a fantastic base for exploring the countryside.
The town has a bustling market square, specialist boutiques, Michelin-starred restaurants and even a microbrewery so you can really make the most of your staycation! You won’t find high street chains here, just independent stores selling everything from designer clothes, jewellery, homeware, books and gifts. When it comes to eating and drinking, you’ll have lots to choose from! Whether you would like fine dining, cosy tea rooms, fish and chips or just a quiet drink - Helmsley will have the perfect spot for you.
There are also plenty of attractions on offer. Helmsley’s Walled Garden sits beneath the ruins of Helmsley Castle and spans 5-acres with vibrant flowers, vegetables and fruit growing throughout the season. You can also visit Helmsley Arts Centre and the National Centre for Birds of Prey.
Getting Around:
Willow Cottage is located just a short 3-minute stroll from Helmsley Market Place where you’ll find shops, restaurants and bars.
The closest train stations to Helmsley are located in Thirsk and Malton. Both stations are roughly a 30-minute drive from the cottage. Malton train station has regular train routes to Scarborough, Leeds, York and Manchester and you can reach Manchester, London, York and Leeds easily from Malton.
Helmsley also has great bus links. If you’d like to visit the North Yorkshire coast, hop on the 128 bus which travels to Scarborough with stops in Kirkbymoorside and Pickering along the way. The 31X bus route travels from York to Kirkbymoorside with stops in Shipton and Helmsley en route.
