À propos de cet hébergement
Stylish 5 Bed House in St. John's Wood/Maida Vale
Summary:
This charming, tastefully styled and lovingly curated 5 bedroom house is perfect for a base in London. This property situated just a stone's throw from Abbey Road Studios and the Zebra crossing made famous by The Beatles. This home is designed brilliantly, to go from either hosting your family or hosting your friends. From the oasis-styled sitting room to the secretive patio, this property is a unique find in the urban landscape of London.
The Space:
This lovely property is spread out across four beautifully designed floors.
Lower ground floor - You can enter and exit from the front terrace into the fully stocked kitchen with dining table sufficient to seat all your guests. From the kitchen, head into the lower lounge which leads to the private rear patio, perfect for outdoor entertaining and accessing the shared garden space.
Ground floor - You come through the main door and into the main living room which takes you away to a bohemian oasis. Sit back and relax and enjoy your favourite shows or family movie nights on the projector screen. The main living room connects to another living space with plenty of natural light coming in through the gallery windows.
First floor - You have the two queen bed rooms with one single room and another office room that can turn into another single bed. There is one bathroom with a shower and bath combination.
Second floor - You have the spacious Master bedroom with grand ceiling fan and this connects to the en-suite bathroom with your separate shower and bath. This floor also includes a large walk-in wardrobe just outside the master bedroom.
Guest Access:
Guest has full access to the entire property and to the shared garden space
The Neighborhood:
To many outsiders, the image of Maida Vale is one dominated by popular culture; the famous Abbey Road studios which also borders along St John’s Wood. However, if you sidestep the hordes of tourists posing for photos on the zebra crossing made famous by that Beatles cover, you’ll soon discover just what it is that has lured well heeled Londoners to this leafy pocket of the city for decades. First on a very long list of attractions is surely the stunning array of properties in the area. The wide winding streets of Little Venice are full of stucco fronted homes set back from the pavements and boasting views over the canals and – although you’d never know on first glance – wonderfully secret communal gardens, while Maida Vale’s beautiful leafy avenues are lined with impressive period homes and mansion flats. The proximity of the BBC’s Maida Vale studios means that many people living here are bigwigs in the music and creative industries. So desirable are these iconic London homes that once people move in they often stay put.
Eating and drinking: Tucked away in the nooks and crannies of Maida Vale’s winding streets, its pubs and restaurants are some of London’s best kept secrets all within a 20 minute walk. The outdoor terrace at The Waterway overlooks the Grand Union Canal and is the perfect summer spot for enjoying a jug of Pimm’s while watching the canal boats go by. Several of Maida Vale’s establishments have a rich history dating back to the 19th century. The Prince Alfred has been serving locals since the 1860s and show no signs of stopping any time soon. For great pizza and pasta The Red Pepper, or for something different try award winning Persian restaurant Kateh, set in a beautiful street off Warwick Avenue.
Culture: Maida Vale may only be a short Tube journey from the West End, but there’s enough going on in this trendy pocket of London that locals don’t need to venture far. The Canal Cafe Theatre puts on a wide variety of performances. Throughout summer Jason’s Trip runs boat trips along Regent’s Canal to Camden Town on a 108 year old canal boat.
Other things to note: The property is very closely located to the American School of London. Marylebone, situated 15 minutes away is a chic residential area with a village feel, centred on the indie boutiques and smart restaurants of Marylebone High Street. Tourists queue for the Madame Tussauds waxwork museum and the Sherlock Holmes Museum, the latter in the fictional sleuth’s home at 221b Baker Street. Just 10 minutes away is another vibrant area being Notting Hill which is one of the most iconic locations of London, the famous Portobello Road. Every Saturday you will find the popular Portobello Market where you can find everything form antiques to food, including clothes, records and books. Also home to the famous movie Notting Hill.
Getting Around:
St Johns Wood (Jubilee line) is 10 Minute walk in one direction and in the other Maida Vale (Bakerloo line) is a 7 minute walk from the property.
There are lots of buses in the area as well
Other Things to Note:
Please note that we provide small bottles of shampoo, shower gel, soap, moisturiser and loo roll for the beginning of all our guest stays and once the products are finished, we kindly ask our guests to provide their own thereafter.
Please note the property will be prepared by our professional cleaners, using hotel-quality linen and towels.
If the booking is 14 days or more, we require a mid-stay clean at an additional cost (the price is dependent on property size). Payment will be taken at the time of the booking and the mid-stay clean includes both a clean and linen change.
We can also arrange any additional cleans regardless of the length of the booking upon request.
Please note that check-in is between 3pm and 8pm. Early and late check-ins as well as late check-outs are available on request for an additional fee.
Where a check in is on a UK bank holiday, there may be an additional surcharge on the cleaning fee as well as an additional cost for a personal check-in. Please enquire for additional information on this when booking.
The lead guest booking the property must be 25+ years old.
