Ce trésor du début du siècle a tout le confort d'une maison avec un confort moderne. Il est situé sur 260 acres avec un accès privé à la rivière Noire cristalline.

Excellent Ozarks Hideaway

We stayed at the Farmhouse for 6 nights with family and friends. Bigger kids enjoyed floating in the river, little kids enjoyed swimming, everyone loved the accommodations. Great fishing for smallmouth on a fly rod! The views of the fields and hills are as good as any you’ll find between the Rockies and the Appalachians! We look forward to coming back.

Great Girls Getaway

We had an excellent time staying at the Black River Farmhouse! We loved everything about it! Texas was a pleasure to talk to and was so nice to take us down and show us where the river was. We had a small issue with the fridge but they were quick to come and take care of it. We def hope to come and stay again!!

very nice place as described, loved the river near the house. owners were very helpful. house was great although could use another bathroom if more than 2 people. very remote but that is what we wanted.

Late summer weekend retreat

We had a great family weekend vacation at the farm house. The host was very helpful and had the house ready for us when we came in late. Really liked the outdoor room and setting, beautiful fields and river just down the road. Near to state parks too. TV was a bit hard to operate but no big deal. We would definitely come back again.

Eclipse Seekers

We got a bit off track but found it. We loved the open space and quiet. We spent a lot of time together (6 adults) in the large kitchen and in the screened patio space. We went down to the river and played around. Once we had the inside and outside lights turned off we enjoyed a pretty dark sky. We had a small telescope and some big binoculars and we were able to do some observing.

Beautiful and secluded

My group just finished our second annual visit to the black river farmhouse. Best location for stargazing, planning a float trip, or just relaxing at the private river front. A big upgrade from last year is that apple maps can now direct you exactly to the location using the address provided! House was clean, any instructions were clearly communicated in writing or in person. I also liked that there are two drip coffee machines and toasters, perfect for a group of 10 all eating breakfast together. Can’t wait to return next year!

The Ultimate Set up!

There was nothing we would have wanted more. The beautiful setting the property was on with multiple Black River access spots was far more then we could have asked for. The set up and the amenities in the home left us with needing very little then other our food. We have never seen a property so we’ll set up! We plan on coming back every year now!

Fantastic Vacation! Can’t wait to go back!

This was our second stay at Black River Farm House, and we loved it just as much this time as the last! The house is clean, comfortable and well-appointed, and Texas is a wonderful host. The solitude this property provides really makes for a fabulously relaxing stay. The private river access is awesome and is nothing short of a river-loving family’s paradise. Our crew loved (repeatedly) walking upstream to float down the mini-waterfalls, catching crawdads, looking for fish, and skipping rocks. The screened-in sitting area outside the house is perfect for morning coffee, as well as a great place to hang out in the evening after a day of playing in the water. There’s plenty of firewood provided which we took advantage of for nighttime s’mores and stargazing. We feel very fortunate to have found this property, and we’re super excited to have Black River Farm House as a place where we can make memories each year with our kids, family, and friends. We are already looking forward to next year’s trip!

Loved it!

I took my family and friends here for the weekend to celebrate my daughters birthday. It was perfect. Very comfortable and spacious for all ten of us. We all love to cook so made great use of the large kitchen. The patio with the large fire pit kept us all warm while we visited and played games at night. Only two hours from St Louis and very close to both Johnson Shut-Ins and Elephant Rock for those who enjoy the outdoors. Planning a trip back again next October. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing getaway

This place is a slice of heaven. The view from the front porch, overlooking the pasture, with the hillside of fall foliage was amazing. Exploring the crystal clear creek was a favorite adventure for our kids. Never a boring moment with all the outdoor games, board games, foose ball table, and fire pit for making s’mores. Great location for visiting Elephant Rock and Johnson’s Shutins.

Love this place!

Enjoyed a wonderful weekend with my husband, kids, and their friends from college. The house was very warm and inviting. The patio was perfect for having drinks and sharing stories. And on top of that, the private river offered a place to cool off and enjoy the sounds of nature. Two of our prime factors in rating a place is the level of seclusion and the access to starry skies. Even though the owners live on the large piece of property, we never ran into them except for the introduction. Because of the seclusion, we were able to spend hours gazing up at the stars. At one point, my daughter mentioned “this place is heaven”. In addition to all of this, the farm house was very clean and the kitchen has everything you need to cook a feast. If you are wanting a place to quietly connect with the people you love- don’t hold back. We will definitely return. Thanks for a perfect weekend!

Pristine Paradise

This family-owned farmhouse is the cleanest vacation property I have ever seen. The amount of love and time is evident from the impeccable paint lines and smooth refurbished floors to the carefully chosen antiques and custom photographs throughout the home. The views and the river are gorgeous. We loved this place so much! And we loved working with the family even more! Texas, you are a wonderful lady!!!

The Farmhouse Never Disappoints

We love staying at this property. This was our second time. We have as much fun at the house playing games and with family time as we do with the short drive to Johnson's Shut Ins and Elephant Rock for the day. It is so quiet and comfortable. We definitely recommend it as a great get-a-way!

Gorgeous place to stay on Black River

We loved our stay and are booking again next year. Texas was super helpful. We loved the privacy, the huge kitchen, the private river access, the farm views, the fire kettle, and the screened porch. The pictures online do NOT do this place justice.

Beautiful property!

Great stay! Upon arrival Texas greeted us and showed us the river access points. The property was beautiful and the home was well-appointed. We cooked all our meals in and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Property is convenient to Johnson Shut-ins, but we enjoyed swimming on the property.

Annual Trip with Friends

This property is perfect - we have our hopes to stay here annually now! The river access was beautiful and the water was clear. We spent a whole day on the river with our group of 8 and the kids loved the little "rock slides". The property had high chairs that we didn't know about and we were ecstatic for! Can't wait to visit again.
