À propos de cet hébergement
The Boathouse - Panoramic Sea View Retreat, near Town, Marina & Beach and Parking
The gentle sea breeze echoes through this vibrant, charming, detached cottage. Enjoy unspoiled elevated views across Torbay - from the rock-walled patio, the living space, and the king-size bedroom with its own generously-sized, covered balcony. Styled in calm, refreshing shades, and with Smart TVs in all rooms, up to 6 can stay in the three double bedrooms. There’s parking for one car (plus a permit for the nearby car park). 1 large dog or 2 small to medium size dogs are welcome. No stag or hen parties.
Please note that there are several wide and gradual steps you will encounter from the car park to the front door so this property is may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues but is easily accessible if aided.
The Space
The moment you step inside The Boathouse, you’ll be captivated by the refreshing open-plan layout as the kitchen seamlessly merges with the living area, offering panoramic sea views of the marina and Torbay. As you settle into the cosy living space, let the sea air flow through, or take to the balcony to broaden the amazing vista. In the cooler months, also enjoy the warm glow of the wood-burning stove (ample wood, kindling, and firelighters are provided). Next to the kitchen area, the high dining table seats four. The feature-packed smart TV lets you stream your favourite on-demand programmes (subscriptions required) and adjusts to the ambient light for uninterrupted viewing, come rain or shine. There’s also a DVD player for your own choice of movies.
The ground floor also includes a cosy bedroom with a new double bed with a toilet and basin. Ideal for children, there’s even another smart TV so they can enjoy their programmes while the grown-ups relish some quiet time.
Upstairs there are two further bedrooms. To the rear, a nice-sized double bedroom, and to the front, the king-size bedroom with a large open-plan balcony to enjoy yet more spectacular sea views. Each bedroom is also equipped with a smart TV.
Between the bedrooms is the family bathroom. Framed in subtle nautical-green brick tiles, there’s a corner shower, curved shower bath with shower attached, plus a basin and toilet. It is also worth mentioning that there is also an large illuminated Bluetooth mirror with inbuilt speakers that plays music from any Bluetooth device.
This unforgettable retreat is private and secure from front to rear for the little ones and beloved pets.

The Neighbourhood
Torquay is a stylish English resort with a superb continental atmosphere. It knows how to cater for everyone’s tastes. For watersports, fishing and sailing, Torquay has a fabulous choice of beaches, while the evenings provide fine dining, theatre, cinema and star-studded shows for all the family.
Torquay also has some of Devon’s best attractions including Kents Cavern, 800-year-old Torre Abbey with its Agatha Christie-inspired Potent Plants Garden and Babbacombe Model Village. Go back in time along Cockington’s narrow lanes, a charming village lined with thatched houses that date back to the 16th century. You can also walk the Agatha Christie mile and discover some of the murder scenes described in her novels. Take the picturesque steam train to Kingswear and jump aboard a riverboat up the Dart to visit her magnificent riverside residence at Greenway, run by the National Trust.
If you have your car, you can play a round at Torquay Golf club and discover the local beaches, such as Torre Sands. Paignton, Goodrington Sands and Broadsands are nearby. Head to Meadfoot Beach for sunbathing, crabbing and lunch at the local cafe or go on a paddleboarding adventure at Anstey’s Cove.
You could also catch the ferry over to historic Brixham harbour (Dartmouth) to enjoy Berry Head National Nature Reserve and its colourful rare plants or pick up something from the catch of the day at Brixham’s renowned Fish Market.
Torquay is a real foodie destination. Try The Waddling Duck Bistro, the Cary Arms, Ollie’s, The Old Vienna and The Orange Tree. For seafood, head to No.7 Fish restaurant, which overlooks the marina, while Michelin-starred fare can be found at The Elephant. Pick up some treats for lunch at Me & Mrs Jones deli or indulge yourself at Naughty But Nice patisserie.
