Avoid at All Costs
Our stay was a nightmare. The building was in shambles. The cutlery was just thrown haphazardly on a shelf, not in any drawers. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting— the shower curtain reeked of body odor, clearly never cleaned or replaced. There were no extra towels or toilet paper provided, which was unacceptable. There was no air conditioning (I know many places don’t in London) but the fan provided was covered in dust, which I’m allergic to. Even worse, there was no sheet on the bed, and the place had extensive building, water damage, and a mount of trash outside the front door from the residents.
For the price we paid, it was absolutely ridiculous, regardless of its location in Notting Hill.
But the worst part was check-in. After traveling 10 hours, we arrived to find that the host never sent us instructions to get in. They claimed it was because we “didn’t pay through the portal on Vrbo,” which is nonsense. Anyone who’s used Vrbo knows that payment is taken when you book. They then tried to get us to pay via a separate, random link sent through WhatsApp, which wasn’t associated with Vrbo at all. Total scam behavior.
This was by far the worst Vrbo experience we’ve ever had. I would avoid this place at all costs.
