Oakwood Penthouse is a top floor apartment in a recently converted mill building. Located in the heart of Alnwick's town centre, the penthouse is full of character with its loft style interiors and sophisticated contemporary touch. Oakwood Penthouse features two bedrooms, one bathroom and an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The perfect accommodation for a group of four, the property welcomes friends and couples for a stay to remember in the Northumberland.

The Space:
Situated in a historic mill building, Oakwood Penthouse offers a unique experience. It retains most of its characterful brick exterior but has been refurbished inside to create a modern space.

The hallway upon entering the penthouse features a mini living area with two chairs and a central table in rattan style.

The two bedrooms are conveniently situated in front of this sitting area. Each bedroom offers a comfortable double bed and a wardrobe for your belongings. Featuring carpeted flooring and decorated with bedside tables and a pair of bedside lamps, the bedrooms exude a snug and cosy feel, perfect for resting your head after a long day out.

The entrance to the last door opens to an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area in a U-shaped layout, all with beautiful hardwood flooring.

There's plenty of seating space for watching your favourite shows on the Smart TV in the living area.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a hob and oven for your home-cooked meals, a coffee machine, a microwave, a kettle, a fridge/freezer, and more!

The bathroom is another delightful space equipped with a bath, as well as the option to use a hand-held or rain shower, and a WC.

With windows in every room, you can enjoy the sun and the lovely views surrounding Oakwood Penthouse or make use of the blinds to rest at any time of the day!

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Oakwood Penthouse are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to your stay.

Oakwood Penthouse is located on the top floor.

Please be aware that whilst the building does have a lift, we cannot be held responsible if this does not work during your stay - this has not happened yet, but we do need to make guests aware.

There is free underground parking for one standard-sized car. The parking space is not suitable for vans or other high vehicles.

The Neighborhood:
With cobbled streets lined with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, the market town of Alnwick has charisma and personality in abundance. If you’re a keen reader, head to the old railway station and you’ll find one of the UK’s largest second hand bookshops. As night falls, venture to one of the lively inns to enjoy live music.

Alnwick also has some of the country’s top attractions including Alnwick Castle, which was the location for the famous Harry Potter film franchise. Discover a realm of adventure by taking on the Dragon Quest or complete broomstick training in the very spot where Harry Potter had his first flying lesson. Head to the Artisan Courtyard to have fun dressing up in medieval costumes and get a feel for 14th century life. You can also explore The Alnwick Garden where you’ll find 12 acres of magnificent gardens and the world’s largest treehouse restaurant.

Getting Around:
The closest train station to Alnwick can be found in Alnmouth, which is roughly a 12-minute drive from the property so local towns in Northumberland can easily be reached via rail. The station has direct routes to Newcastle, Edinburgh, York, Leeds, London and Bristol.

There are a number of bus stops throughout Alnwick and the main bus station is just a short from walk away from Indigo River. Hop on the X20 which takes you through to Newcastle with stops in beautiful areas of Northumberland like Alnmouth and Amble. The X18 route travels between Newcastle and Berwick upon Tweed with stops in Morpeth, Amble and Seahouses.

The nearest airport is Newcastle International Airport, 35 miles away from Alnwick.
