New to July 2024! Nestled in a little valley, Casa Escondida is in a tiny village in the locality of Cabeçudo only a 5 minute drive from the pretty bustling town of Sertã in beautiful Central Portugal. It is conveniently located 3 minutes from the IC8 and 1 minute from the N2. It is a modernized Portuguese, single level house set in a very tranquil and private location, but at the same time, only a short drive to amenities in Sertã. It is suitable for those looking for a restful holiday or equally suitable for a family holiday.
The whole property is exclusively yours, no sharing with others. It can accommodate a maximum of 7 people. The main house sleeps 4/5 people, it has one bedroom with a king bed and in the large lounge/dining room are a double sofa bed and single bed chair. It has a family bathroom and a very well equipped kitchen. The detached second bedroom is separated from the main house by the covered outdoor dining/bbq area. It has its own bathroom and sleeps 2 people in a king bed. Upon booking we will send you a message to find out how you want the bedrooms configured.
There is a terraced garden full of fruit and olive trees, and vines, an exclusive beautiful 7x4m swimming pool and a little stream running along the bottom of the garden.
A patio is situated outside the lounge doors, a sun terrace and pergola adjacent to the pool and a shaded outdoor dining/bbq area with a table and chairs and a large gas operated BBQ. There is plenty of sun and shade available and there is a driveway for parking.
The house is serviced by water from a well, although this can be used for cooking, bottled water will be required for the kettle and drinking, we will initially provide you with some bottled water for your arrival. We provide all bed linen, bath towels and swimming towels and some miniature toiletries to get you started. There are some games/toys for both indoors, outdoors and the swimming pool. There is free unlimited Wi-Fi and satellite tv.
Access to the house is via a single track tarmac road which only leads to Casa Escondida. Sit back, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, the ideal place to recharge and have fun.
This is our new project and opened in July 2024 and although our guests already think it’s a great place, forwe will be making changes and improvements each year.

We are Alison and Rod, both originally from the UK. We moved to this beautiful country 8 years ago and have never regretted it.
Casa Escondida is our second holiday home here, we finally managed to open it to visitors in July 2024 after an 18 month renovation. Our other holiday home is in a nearby location just 7 minutes away and is called Casa dos Cavalos, which has been a successful holiday let since 2019. We love hosting our guests and are also currently in the process of a very long, slow renovation/rebuild of our own house.
We have three children, our Daughter lives in Australia with her husband and our two beautiful grandchildren and two Sons who both live in the UK with their respective partners.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We love this area, beautiful rolling hills and winding rivers, the scenery is fabulous and we try not to take it for granted. The climate is much better than the UK, hot summers, warm spring and autumn and only a few frosts in the winter. We do get a lot of rain, mainly in the winter, late autumn and early spring. The locals here have warmly welcomed us and are very friendly and helpful. The food is fresh and plentiful and very reasonably priced.

We like to think that Casa Escondida is a home away from home. It has a very well equipped kitchen for preparing and cooking your own food The location is private and peaceful.
