Margaret Lloyd-Jones, une tante de Frank Lloyd Wright, a été rénovée avec soin et a été construite en 1892. Avec deux chambres à coucher, un salon et une salle de bain complète à l'étage, une cuisine complète, un salon et une salle de bain en bas, la maison peut accueillir jusqu'à huit personnes.
La maison est en vue de Hillside School, Romeo et Juliet et Tan-y-deri, juste au sud de la rivière Wisconsin à Spring Green, dans le Wisconsin. Cet emplacement permet d'accéder facilement à Taliesin et au centre des visiteurs Frank Lloyd Wright, au American Players Theatre, à deux parcs d'État et aux nombreuses activités de la ville de Spring Green.

It was a lovely space to get away and unplug. APT is so close, as is Spring Green. Hope to come back and spend a weekend!

Great location and comfortable

I loved the setting although the road noise was apparent, it settled significantly during the night. The cabin had a historical feel while being comfortably updated. The central AC was much appreciated. The suggestions though, would have likes tissues, in bathroom and guest rooms, many of the windows would not stay open so some blocks or props would help, large ants crawling in bedrooms was annoying, suggest some ant traps. Windows seem dirty and old bugs inside window sills. Finally keypad was fickle took a number of tries to open door, but no big deal. Would be nice to have some outdoor chairs to enjoy the back yard, ideally a table to eat. Finally some extra blankets would have been appreciated on the beds or available. But these are small in comparison to how much we enjoyed our stay,

The Perfect Location and Ties to History

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aunt Margaret's Cottage and especially connecting her with the history of the area and the Lloyd Jones family. We truly felt enveloped in history from the moment we arrived and discovered what we were literally in walking distance to! The house is lovely and modern with all conveniences. One challenge we had was getting to sleep the first night but we discovered several fans in the house and used them to create white noise, blocking the traffic noise. There's nothing anyone can do about it and its not anyone's fault but we're grateful for the fans -- they solved it. We also had one small mishap but Jeff is one of the best hosts we've ever had with vrbo and he immediately responded and had the situation resolved that evening while we were out. All good! We also didn't realize that there was no television in the house. Being there during the Summer Olympics, fortunately we had our iPad with us to keep up. That was our fault for not paying attention but again all good! But truly the proximity to Taliesen, APT and the town of Spring Green is fantastic. We discovered some great restaurants and shops in town. And don't miss Cavern of the Mounds! Well be back! Thank you again Jeff!

Excellent location for nearby wedding!

Our group came for a wedding taking place nearby at Hilltop. We had a full house with people staying in both bedrooms, the downstairs pullout couch, and the upstairs futon. There were plenty of sheets, bedding, and towels to go around. Although there was only one shower, we had no issue staggering our bathroom times. We staying for another night after the wedding. We went swimming in the nearby Wisconsin River, and had a little fire in the fire pit out back. The next morning we saw a beautiful Luna moth out on the deck. Very pleasant experience all around.

Close to attractions

This is a nicely restored home that is incredibly close to all of the local attractions. Pretty much every place we visited was less than a 10 minute drive. If you are used to spices/toiletries left behind at other rentals, bring them with you. This rental does a good job of cleaning out what is left behind between renters. Our favorite part of the trip was not planned ahead based on common attractions found on the internet. We loved going down by the Wisconsin River at Peck’s Landing and hanging out on the sandbars.

Very comfortable and has interesting history

Lovely property with historical connection to Frank Lloyd Wright family. Comfortable and well equipped with pleasant ambiance. Lots of warm wood and large windows. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Spring Green revisited

It was an ideal place for a brief stay in the area. It was clean,quite comfortable and an ideal location to explore the area.The only downside to the property, for us, was the traffic noise.

Close to Taliesin

This house is only a 4-minute drive from Taliesin. Touring Taliesin was our main reason for coming to Spring Green. It was a plus that this house was built for a relative of Frank Lloyd Wright. It has comfortable furniture, a nice warm fireplace, updated bathrooms, and clean towels and bedding. Because there is no dishwasher, we had to rewash the dishes and pans to be sure they were clean. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location for Spring Green Sights

This home is a wonderful place to stay if you are going to Taliesin or American Players Theater. Spring Green is a charming community. We had a great weekend visiting. Would stay again.

Spring Green getaway

Beautiful and historic home located in a restorative spot across from the Taliesin property. Only issue was lightbulb out in stairwell but easy to manage with our phone light. Even stayed cool in the heatwave! Loved the books and plays. Thank you!

Great spot for visiting Spring Green

This is a historic house with great access to APT (<10 minutes away), Canoeing on the Wisconsin River (10 minutes away), and of course Taliesen which is opposite the house.

Great little cabin in the woods

Aunt Margaret’s was a great place to feel away from the hustle and bustle but still close to all of the local activities. It was comfortable for four adults. If you’re a light sleeper, you’ll hear all of the creaks that come with a home with history. Jeff was fantastic with communication, and I’d highly recommend a stay when in town!

You won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I and another couple stayed in this lovely remodeled old, historic home for the weekend. We went to the Tower State park and learned much about the family and Aunt Martha. Although it is on a busy and sometimes noisy street, the house with the AC on was not only comfortable, the noise was not very loud. The kitchen was huge, the beds were comfortable and the location was close to town, to APT and to bike trails! Jeffrey was very good at communicating and we had no problems getting all our questions answered. The only caveat is to be aware that some basics like soap, dish soap, t.p., paper towels are not well stocked.

Stunning house in the perfect location!

My friends and I stayed here for a couple of nights to visit the local attractions (in particular The House on the Rock). We couldn’t think up a complaint if we tried, honestly— very private and comfortable and peaceful and great responsiveness from the host. He warned us in advance that not all of the beds are private if the house is being used to full capacity, and while that’s true it didn’t bother us. It was easy to find and easy to get into as well. Not much else I can think to say other than that I recommend it!

Quiet retreat near Taliesin

We have always wanted to tour Taliesin and this cottage provided us with exactly what we were hoping for - a quiet, calm setting with surrounded by trees, green and flowers. The views of the valley were beautiful. The highway location does make traffic noise a minor part of the experience but we did not find this too bad. The cottage is restored and had everything we needed. Perfect home base for a Spring Green weekend getaway!

Cozy Cottage

A beautiful location! My friends and I loved connecting with each other at this property. The house is beautiful! and spacious! There is a great backyard to the property as well. One of my favorite parts was that there was no TV. :)

Great little spot nestled in the trees!

Loved the vintage house just outside Spring Green. It comfortably slept five of us and was exactly the type of retreat we needed. We were able to roast marshmallows at the firepit each nice and grill on their small charcoal grill. Definitely would recommend it!
