It’s OK

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was fine. Very very expensive during Christmas week. It was described as a luxury property....Uh NOPE. Out dated furnishings. Banged up walls, missing door because the washing machine doesn’t fit in the space/. Heavy, heavy, build up of lint on ceiling fan, GROSS! Very light on cleaning supplies. On the plus side: The caretakers/workers where great. Very friendly and accommodating. plenary of towels. Area cleared of snow. Plenty of wood. Hot tub taken care of.

Huge disappointment. Very happy the day we left. Everything in "not what it appears" review is correct. I can add that when we arrived the shower and toilets were not clean. One important thing I asked the manager when I agreed to the "upgrade" to this house from the townhouse I actually rented was if there was any odors. I was assured no, but when we arrived the master suite had a very strong stale smoke smell. We could not use the master bedroom and had to stay in a smaller bedroom with smaller bed, which by the way had a very old mattress that was sagging in the center. Adding to this very unfortunate stay was the fact that the wifi kept going out for many hours at a time preventing us from having email, cell (there is no signal at that location), cable or streaming. It had to be fixed during our stay and turned out to be bad wiring in the house from a recent exterior renovation - not the fault of the wifi provider. Also annoying is that contractors working on other neighboring properties of this rental group would just wander onto the property of this house unannounced just feet from our ground floor windows - so basically no privacy. Management did nothing about that when we complained saying that is just how they work. Do yourself a huge favor and STAY AWAY from this property.

Family get away weekend

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time in Killington. Lots of activities and dining options. The 76 house was a good option for our family group of 11. Sleeping accomodations were good, the house could be listed a having 5 bedrooms. Unfortunately, the house is not in very good shape anymore: heating doesn’t work properly, cold showers, furniture is broken, toaster, ice machine and vacuum cleaner not working, and the coffee pot was missing. We also found a bloody pillow in one of the bedrooms upon arrival. Probably, overlooked by the cleaning staff!,Overall reasonable return for money. I would recommend this property, but only after making sure the staff has attended the problem issues.

Feb 2019 Snowboard trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our third time coming back to the "76" House. Why would we come back to an east coast resort after taking a trip out west in 2017? It is simple, it was the 76 House that brought us back. Every night while in Colorado last year we kept saying how much we missed this house. The conditions this year were NOT good at all! It was warm, the snow was slush, freezing rain, then it got cold and was icy, but you know what? It was all good because of the 76 House. This is absolutely our favorite vacation rental and we will be back! For those looking to rent, look no further! Remember that a good vacation rental is more than just the number of bedrooms. It is about living and usable space! There were 8 of us and it would have been just as comfortable with 2 or 3 more. Hot tub was awesome, a quick walk across the parking lot to get to the slopes. Stocked firewood everyday, a pool table to gather around with your friends in the evenings. What more do you want!!I have only one suggestion for the owners. The room with the 4 single beds and the pool table. Hang a few simple metal bars on the walls with some coat hangers so the guys using that room have a place to dry their stuff instead of all over the room :-)Seriously, this was my only complaint. See you next year!

The Hot tub was clean and checked every day. The fireplace worked well with lots of dry wood. The House was on a major ski trail for easy skiin skiout access. The house was located on a beautiful hillside lot and there was lots of parking for our 3 cars.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We originally booked a townhouse directly on Bear Mountain but it was sold and we were told we would receive and upgrade to the 76 house. It is not an upgrade. This house needs a lot of love.The kitchen is ill equipped and I doubt its up to code. You cant properly cook on the stove given the proximity of the stove top and refrigerator. There are barely enough plates, glasses, utensils for a group. The "master" bed is literally falling apart. There's no end tables or lamps in the master. The closets are missing doors. The master bath had no heat. The twin beds on the second floor are horribly uncomfortable.The fans and vents are covered in a think layer of dust. The "1/2 bath is just a shower and its unusable because the fan makes a loud screeching sound. We originally booked a ski on ski off - right out of the back door to the townhouse but at this house you need to walk across the street and go thru the neighbors yard.I would not rent this house again.

Thumbs Up!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There was a mechanical issue with our original reservation 5 days before our planned arrival and we could not stay there. The Management Company more than made up for the change in plans and put us in the “76 House”. It was large and clean and if there was snow on the Great Eastern trail, the location is fantastic for ski on ski off. They also provided private shuttle service to the mountain! We could not ask for anything more and always a quick response when questions were asked. The only downside...could not use the hot tub on the first day cause they drain and clean it between guests (which is a good thing!) but it was only 65 degrees. It was up to temp the next day👍 There were only 4 of us but it could easily accommodate a large group. A big thank you to Kevin O’Neill and Elijah!

Great location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our experience was great! The house was in decent shape. Linens were clean. Beds were ok. Plenty of room for everybody. The location was perfect. My only complaint is getting in touch with rental company prior to our arrival was very difficult. I could never reach anybody by phone. After leaving a voice message regarding questions we had regarding our stay on the phone number provided, it would take several days to to hear back from anybody and on one occasion I never got a response. Second night of our stay we came off the mountain after a full day of skiing only to find the hot tub luke warm at best, and it didn’t warm up enough to use that evening. Kind of a bummer. Come to find out maintenance had showed up at 4pm to top off the hot tub. Note to maintenance, at a ski house, don’t top off the hot tub at 4pm. Other than that the place was great! We will be back.

Once again, the best house and the best rental company

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 5th or 6th time renting the 76 House and we will be back again next year. Covid changed a lot of things this year, with one of them being the lower part of the great eastern trail being closed during our stay. What a disappointment that was! This is our trail from the 76 house to make it a true ski in, ski out rental. We were not sure what we were going to do to get to and from the slopes, but leave it to Trailside Village and their great team to make it happen for us. They had their own shuttle and pickup us up from the house and brought us back at the end of the day as well. If you are having second thoughts of renting from Trailside Village, don't be! Absolutely first rate experience as usual. Thank you all so much! From the guys who clear the lot, to the guys who bring us firewood, to the owners of Trailside Village. We are and will continue to be loyal customers. See you next year!

Great property, but process needs work

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I had a wonderful stay at the 76 house. The place was clean, well stocked and was pretty well cleaned. We did find one used bottle cap in the house upstairs in the pool table room - while it was something that could easily be missed, it wouldn't have if all the high tough areas were being sanitized between guests.The amenities were great, the grill and hot tub were excellent. There were a couple of pieces of furniture that were a bit older and had seen better days. One of the beds in the bedrooms was quite fragile and on it's last legs. It fell apart during our stay but we were able to jury rig it for the duration of our stay.The biggest downfall was the booking process. I booked online rather than through AirBnb or VRBO because I figured I'd save the property and myself a little money. However, after I booked and saw my credit card had been charged, it took over a week before I got any sort of email confirmation. I called and emailed multiple times and never received any answer whatsoever from SkiOnSkiOff. It took me sending a facebook message to finally get a response. Once I got the rental agreement, signed and sent it back, I didn't receive any check in instructions or a signed copy of the agreement back until 2 days before my trip was to begin. When organizing a big trip with friends, it is not a great feeling to not have assurance that the trip is still indeed on. I was worried the entire drive up that the doors might be locked and I'd have no way to check in and have to turn 6 cars back to Boston. For this reason alone, I'd recommend booking through AirBnb or VRBO just for the added peace of mind because there would be recourse through AirBnb. This is something that could easily be improved with someone who checks the business' inbox even...once a day? Or perhaps have someone to answer the phone? That should be a very basic part of operations in the hospitality business.

Responsive management & fun house for our group

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the daily trash pick-up and firewood drop off! The ski-on-ski-off was only a few steps away to a fun green trail. The fireplace was a huge hit and the house wouldn’t have been as cool without it! Our only complaints were the mice coming in and out through holes by the radiator in the living room wall (multiple mice, always same location - they need to seal holes and treat for mice), and the fact that 2.5 baths is misleading. The half bath was a shower only instead of toilet only. Deducted a star for condition of property as quality of furnishings seemed cheaper, light fixtures were missing trim, a few leaks throughout the house were apparent, etc.
