Reviewer Comments:
Our stay at the Sugartop resort was pleasant overall but not perfect. The resort stands above everything else in the area offering beautiful, expansive views of the Mountains. Checking in: After picking up our keys from the rental company, we headed straight to the resort. You'll check in at the guard shack and be given a yellow parking pass. Then you'll proceed to the entrance where you can unload. Guests are not allowed to park at the resort so we were required to move our car down to a lower lot where they will shuttle you from. Any time you need to access your vehicle, you will have to take the shuttle. It was inconvenient however we never waited more than 5 minutes for the shuttle. The shuttle itself was a brand new, beautiful Jeep Wagoneer. The resort itself is older but clean. The lobby is cozy with the pool directly attached. There are snacks, coffee, drinks and alcohol all available for purchase (nothing is complementary). The hallways leading to our room is drab and harshly lit. Our room was very clean and very 80's. It is about 20 years overdue for a renovation. The family room was comfortable, and kitchen well-appointed with all the necessities. Being that each condo is privately owned, your mileage may vary. The condo itself had some non-functional light fixtures. The master bathtub drained very slowly and the sliding glass doors very difficult to move.Overall for the cost, this isn't a bad place to stay. I will certainly consider it in the future but I'm more likely to try a cabin or another condo elsewhere. I'd prefer more convenience and a recently updated unit to the views. Also, be aware that the local sherif does run radar on the road leading up the mountain to the resort. Do not speed!
