Relaxing space!

My husband and I spent 9 days in this charming cottage! The size was perfect for the 2 of us (and our dog!) with enough space to combine a few days of work with a few days of fun! The location of this property can't be beat - so close to the beach and all of the wonderful things the Jax Beach neighborhood has to offer! The property had everything we needed including a very comfortable bed, good size bathroom, convenient (and large!) washer and dryer, and a great patio space. The Roku TV was easy for us to use with all of our subscription services. The kitchen was decently equipped with everything we needed for our stay (although to be fair, we didn't cook any major meals). We enjoyed meeting 2 sets of visitors to the cottage in the back - definitely want to look at that one for a potential rental, too. We will definitely be back!

NYE Stay

We enjoyed our time at the Whale House. It’s a small place as depicted in the photos but well appointed, comfortable and cozy. It’s very close to the beach and lots of restaurants. The fenced yard was great for our pup who was a welcomed guest as well.

Thanksgiving

First, I have to say "WOW"!!! This place was awesome and as we say in the South "Cute as a Button!" Chris put little touches in this Cottage that made it a HOME, not just a place to stay. Bed was very comfortable, pull-out sofa was nice as well per our adult son. Also nice to sit on for watching football. The short walk to the beach was an added bonus, which our little Maltese really enjoyed. We will definitely stay again when coming to Jacksonville Beach!

Great location

Adorable cottage with a great location. Just a block from the beach and could hear the waves from our patio. Could walk to a wide variety of restaurants. Definitely would stay again.

The photos accurately represent the place. The bedroom does not have enough room to open up a suitcase on the floor but there is a closet and since it was just two of us we used the living room area

Cottage was perfect! Cozy and very clean. Loved that it was a short walk away from the beach and restaurants. We had a few questions and Chris responded immediately with a resolution. I would recommend this location without a doubt!

Sweet, Sweet Cottage in Great Location

We so thoroughly enjoyed our stay that we will be back the next time we travel to Jax Beach to visit family. The space has an easy flow for visiting and dining. Great kitchen. Very well-appointed, and so nicely decorated! Chris has thought of absolutely everything you might need for your stay. The location was perfect. We could hear the ocean, just one block away… and it is within walking distance to a number of restaurants and shop. Very nice setting for sitting outside. We would recommend this listing highly!

Not Shabby Chic- just shabby

After reading the positive reviews about the cleanliness of the property and good experiences of past renters, we looked forward to spending a week at The Whale. Unfortunately, the house was very dirty and showed significant signs of wear from previous renters. The bloom has fallen off the rose with this property, at least for now. We ended our time there after four nights and were eager to leave. Definitely not what we expected from a “premier host” or a highly rated property.

A Great Stay

The house is precious! The cute little pink cottage is very well appointed and the decor is just... well... precious! The owner is adding upgrades to make future stays even better (keyless entry). The landscaping and colorful pots of flowers add to the charm. A block from the beach and a fantastic restaurant at the beach (Refinery) make it a great hassle free stay for someone that just wanted R&R. The owner even brought me a birthday balloon and cupcakes! SO NICE!!! Would definitely stay at the pink Whale cottage again!

Whale of a time

Everything was great! The location was perfect, all the little extras were appreciated, enjoyed the back deck and the front deck! Shower was hot and bed was comfortable! Highly recommend when visiting Jax Beach! We also had a wonderful meal at Eleven South!

Wonderful Stay in JAX's Beach

We stayed in an original beach cottage in JAX Beach for the first time. Don't let the outside of this cottage fool you because the inside was just beautiful and extremely well equipped. It had all the amenities you could possibly need for a really nice stay. We took long walks on the beach with our pups (dogs allowed from October thru March 31). We walked to some very good restaurants nightly (Refinery, Casa Marina & V's Pizza ). The day we arrived it was raining so we drove to Neptune Beach a couple miles away to eat at "Fish Camp". Our hostess, Chris greeted us shortly after we arrived and gave us great suggestions. Overall, we all had a wonderful time and will be back:))))

Great House and Location

We were in town for the Gator Bowl and the house was the perfect place to stay. Our puppies enjoyed the fenced yard and we loved the entire house. Chris was responsive to all of our requests. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great location!

We had a great time with everything we needed and more. The beach is a short 2 or 3 minute walk. You can also walk to several restaurants. The cottage is decorated so cute. We will definitely return.

Check out Whale 2 (VRBO#3454836). It's our newest cottage that shares a backyard with The Whale. Feel free to inquire about renting both for a large family escape! Whale 2 has another king-sized bed along with two sets of bunk beds.
