Darling French country cottage
The Chestnut was adorable. Our visit was in the middle of April. The whimsical decorations on the outside and inside were very eclectic and pretty! The colorful flowers were in bloom surrounding the cottage and we enjoyed the table outside for our charcuterie that we made. Just what you picture when you think of a country French cottage. Lots of special touches. Our host had a lovely bottle of fresh cider and a fire going when we arrived. The table was set nicely for all of us and there was a welcome sign. The rooms were as described, and our beds were prepared well. There was plenty of room for our clothes in the beautiful lovely antique furniture. The stairs were a little on the steep for my wobbly teenager, but it was okay. The only complaint that I have is the electricity use was limited to 8kilowatt hours a day. We were not informed of this limit prior to rental and it was very cold during our visit. We were asked to not turn on the heater due to the kilowatt hours. It was difficult for us during our travels to locate firewood. We wore house shoes and sweaters and hats while inside and overnight was quite cold.However, upon addressing this with the hosts, they did provide more wood to help us heat the cottage. I would love this place in the warmer spring months through a tepid fall. The hosts were kind and the cottage was cozy.
