Brilliant property with all amenities to cater for a fishing party , plenty of towels great heating/cooling system excellent internet and tv facilities couldn't ask for more.

Assigned parking spaces were not available all the time Barbecue was not usable as it was very dirty was not cleaned Rooms were spacious and we enjoyed the space. beds were good however you may consider not using such strong smelling detergents for the bedding. Not enough cutlery General maintenance was not great. Ex. Knobs on dressers missing and Brocken. Sink stops not working Kitchen sprayer was broken But all in all we enjoyed our stay as it was comfortable and spacious

Week in Chilliwack for a family wedding

We travelled with a group of 7 people, including my 88 year old mom with mobility issues. If you are traveling with anyone with mobility issues, this house is great. There are 2 short steps (with a post to hang onto) to enter the house. The walk from parking the car on the street to the front door has a short sloped walkway (we were able to navigate this easily with her walker). Once inside, the living room, dining room, kitchen and laundry are all on the main floor. What sold it for us was the bedroom and bathroom on the main floor…this was perfect for my elderly mom. A grab bar beside that toilet would have been helpful, but we managed. The 3 bedrooms upstairs (and 2 full baths) were clean and spacious. Check in and checkout were very easy and the host responded to my text messages promptly. The main fridge was out of order, but they had a second fridge in the kitchen. One small issue was that the second fridge didn’t have an ice maker, and no ice trays available. We went to the dollar store and bought ice cube trays, so we had ice to use (and we left those ice cube trays there when we left so future people will have ice). The beds were all comfortable with plenty of pillows for everyone. Overall, this was a great experience and I would highly recommend it for others (especially if traveling with the elderly).

Disappointed

Sadly that, such a beautiful home and great location, was short on a few expected features of a VRBO property. When we arrived we needed to clean the kitchen counters, cabinets, knobs, the fridge shelves, and the floors. Can we suggest that you hire a new cleaning crew for this room. The grill was very dirty and we needed to buy a brush before we could prepare our own food. Also the starter did not work on the grill. Some of dinnerware was chipped and broken. We needed more cutlery for our family of six. Can we suggest a cookie sheet, place mats, extra bulbs and more thorough instructions on how to handle organics and recyclables. Please provide blue bags or a blue bin. The online listing showed two fridges, but only the smaller of the two is working. In this fridge, the crisper drawers had nothing to slide on as the shelf was not there. We needed to fashion a shelf out of cardboard. Please fix the fridge situation because the smaller fridge is just too small for a large family. We found stale food in the cupboard and an empty package from cannibus in the bedroom as well as someone else’s clothing in a bedroom drawer. The carpets are worn and dirty. Upon notifying the the property manager on our arrival, we mentioned our concern for the cleanliness but we did not hear from him or her through the remainder of our stay. Also, the modern washer made very loud clunking sounds during the spin cycle. We must say that bathroom cleaning was almost acceptable. Anonymous

Host from Hell

I want to warn people about staying in this property. I got a call from the host, Sam, the day before we were to book in. He wanted to know how many people coming to our bridal shower( 2-5-pm) and that he would have to charge us more. I had sent Sam a notice advising of the shower in April and asking for the address to send out invitations. He never voiced any objections at that time. He was very intimidating in his call the day before we checked in. I advised I was not paying more for invited shower guests. When we arrived we noticed a ring camera door bell. We have one in our home so knew it would record people and conservations on the front deck. The host did not advise us that he would be observing and listening to our conversations when sitting on the front deck. I put a cover over the lens to give us some privacy but he could still listen in. This made us feel very uncomfortable. He called us and told us to remove the cover. I told him no as per VRBO policy the landlord has to advise of cameras and if we objected he could not use them. That was when he became very threatening and said we would regret covering them. He also said he was taking this further and we would pay. I felt very threatened and worried he might come to the house. I called VRBO Customer Care and made a formal complaint about the host’s threatening manner. Lacks pots and dirty bowl in cupboard. Poor cleaning. Don’t stay here.

A great place to meet up with family

We came to Canada from the UK to meet up with family from Canada and the US. The property was clean and tidy and exactly as described. Huge comfy beds. It had everything we needed and everything worked. There was someone staying in the apartment below but we didn’t really notice them.

Great space for our family to stay :)

Samuel’s home is spacious and comfortable, and the beds were fresh, clean, and comfy in every room. Having three well appointed bathrooms was so helpful for us…we never felt cramped even with nine adults and an infant, and there were plenty of towels and linens. Having A/C during the crazy heat of the week we were there was glorious, and the location is a convenient one in Promontory, which is also a beautiful neighbourhood. It may be dense housing, but it is quiet and the views from the deck are gorgeous for morning coffee. The kitchen is nice for preparing meals, and the main floor laundry was very convenient, and there are good cleaning supplies throughout the house. There were other guests on the property when we were there, but there were no issues…the house rules are clear and it seems guests are chosen wisely. Things to know: 1) parking can be a bit tight in the evenings, but we never had a time that we weren’t able to park close by. 2) If you are a large group, plan to have a few extra supplies on hand (extra garbage bags, dishwasher soap, toilet paper, etc)…save-on foods is just a 5 minute drive down the mountain, so that’s not too hard. 3) The kitchen has good basic cooking implements and dishes, but again, if you have a large group and you’re planning to cook you may need a larger pot/ paper plates. 4) The main fridge/ ice maker was out of order, but it was nice to see that Samuel had clearly promptly provided and alternate fridge, and that the kitchen had space to accommodate that. Overall, Samuel’s home was a great place for our family to stay, and we would definitely book again. Thank you for a positive VRBO experience!

Home away from home

The home was easy to find from the highway and situated in a quiet, residential neighbourhood. Retail services were 5 minutes away by vehicle. Plenty of rooms and beds for our family. Beautiful view from the deck with chairs and a BBQ. There are other short term clients on the property. (basement and garage with living quarters.) Parking is on the street and frequently parked up in front of the property but not a serious problem. The home is air-conditioned. It was 32 degrees during our stay. The host was responsive. I would stay there again. Chilliwack seems like a great and growing community.

Wedding Weekend

We were there for our daughter's wedding and we had many people coming and going, and the house was comfortably large enough for everyone! There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the neighbourhood was quiet. The only thing was that before booking, the website was not clear that other people were also staying on the property, although in the end it really did not affect us at all.

Great location. In a nice quiet neighbourhood. Lots of space for everyone.

Stayed here with family. Lots of space for everyone. Having 3 bathrooms was great. Well set up kitchen, simple spices provided for cooking. Beautiful back deck with BBQ. Clean and linens provided were like new. Would definitely stay again.

Nice for larger group

We stayed with 8 for family holiday gathering. the home was clean, and comfortable. Kitchen appliances were good, could have more coffee cups and silver ware and pans but we simply ran dishwasher more often. Note that the home is not well insulated and sounds travel easily between rooms and to the basement suite even when not making excessive noise. Mostly a great stay and would come back again.

This home suited our needs 100%. We had a funeral of our mother in town. And children travelling from far so a place to stay together without interfering with other families space in this sad time.

Great stay in Promontory

Close to everything Chilliwack and surrounding area offers but located in a lovely mountain-side neighbourhood. Lots of space, no one felt like they were cramped. Very clean, layout was great, stock of dishes and supplies were excellent. Laundry machines and high chairs available if needed. Beautiful mountain views from upper deck, friendly neighbours. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the Chilliwack area and would rent here again. There is a second suite in the basement to be aware of, and maybe a more permanent resident in the detached garage/suite. Both not of any concern though. Excellent stay.
