Welcome to Golden Valley, your ideal tiny house New Zealand getaway in Waihi, conveniently located near Waihi Beach, Whiritoa Beach, and a short drive from Whangamata Beach. Surrounded by rolling hills adorned with shades of gold and green, our cabin is nestled amidst native trees and farmland, alongside a gentle brook.
Meet our friendly farm animals, Spotty & Mary, our two sheep who roam the paddock, a pair of chickens eager for scraps, and white homing doves that add to the serene atmosphere.
The Space:
Golden Valley Retreat is located in the peaceful town of Waihi, just an hour's drive from Hamilton. Tucked away in a private section surrounded by native plants and trees, the soothing trickle of a nearby stream adds to its serene charm.
Explore nearby exciting attractions such as the picturesque Owharoa Falls, stunning bushwalks in Karangahake Gorge, and scenic cycling along the Hauraki Rail Trail. Nearby towns include Te Aroha, just a 34-minute drive away, and Paeroa, only 29 minutes away.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with Breakfast and Boutique Doggy Daycare’ facilities included. Easy water access, sourced from a spring and filtered for purity. We are proud to provide you with pure spring water straight from the source, a water jug is provided for extra filtration and drinking . The accommodation features split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).
If you plan to spend your tiny house New Zealand getaway here, we advise that you bring your basic necessities, such as food and water during your stay with us. Thank you.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We would like to advise guests that cabin space is limited, so we recommend packing light to ensure a more comfortable stay.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and are welcome to explore the acre of land. Please refrain from accessing the private home located behind the fence. You are also invited to stroll along the driveway and up the road, which is closed to vehicles.

- Firewood for the pit is available for $15 per night.
- You will be provided a complimentary breakfast consisting of cereal, free range eggs (in the coupe), vogals toast, juice, milk, butter and spreads. Coffee and a range of teas are also provided.
- We are excited to offer a new addition to the amenities—a mini air fryer, perfect for quick and easy meals during your stay!

Farm guidelines
- We have 3 dogs on the premises who enjoy meeting new people and receiving cuddles.
- Dogs: we are a small farm with sheep and chickens, please control your dog at all times. To prevent your dog from chasing the live stock there is a kennel with a covered pen by the tiny house with a long lead attached.
- We also breed Golden Retrievers, so if you're fortunate, you may enjoy some puppy cuddles. Please inform us if you would prefer not to interact with them.
- If your dog is social, we encourage you to put in our doggie daycare area to play with our friendly dogs. (Golden retrievers). Please keep dogs off the linen. Our dogs are very social and will most likely want to meet you!
- Guests are welcome to feed the sheep with the pellets provided, and treats for the doves and chickens are appreciated. Please refrain from feeding the dogs.
- Please be mindful and respectful of the animals on the property. If you prefer not to have the two sheep roaming, please inform us before your stay, and we can arrange for them to be relocated temporarily.
- Dogs are welcome to enjoy the outdoors while you're on the property, but we recommend keeping them outside the tiny homes to avoid farm dirt and protect our white linens.
- Please note, any damage caused by dogs to bedding, structures, or sheep will incur additional fees.
