This property requires updating and a deep clean. The major issues were the A/C in master bedroom not working and the toilet leaked water onto the floor. Contacted the property manager. This was a weekend and the manager was unable to get the issues resolved. Other issues, shelves on the fridge door were either missing or broken - only 1 was available, curtains not all hanging on rods, garbage left, unit not clean and ripped, torn couch and carpet. The unit was not worth the value that was being charged. In 30 degree weather, and toilet water consistently on floor we could not stay in the apartment. We requested a refund and advised them we wanted to vacate. They advised us to contact VRBO support. We spoke with support and felt we were getting some resolve. Finally on the third day we were able to find another accommodation. The following day we received an email from VRBO support advising that they had dropped the case as they had determined the issue was minor - this was determined without even speaking further with us. We then spoke with VRBO support again and another case was opened.We attempted to get a refund for the remaining 20 days but kept getting bounced between VRBO and the property manager, Hometime. Each claimed the other wasn't responding. Eventually we received a portion of the refund that we were entitled to, but not the full amount. Both VRBO and Hometime need to take an active role in assessing and maintaining the properties they rent.
