Looking for a cozy getaway in the country? The Elkin Country Cottage, nestled in the heart of North Carolina wine country takes you back in time. The completely renovated home boasts all the modern conveniences including high speed WIFI, YouTube TV, Netflix, modern appliances and amenities. Watch the cows graze across the street from the comfort of the warm living area while sipping coffee or a glass of local wine. Snuggle up on the couch with a good book or great company.

We have now added a game room in the garage. Access is available upon request!. The room includes a 3 in 1 game table, electronic basketball game and kids crafts.

Guests can hike the Powerhouse trail to Carter Falls, head into America's Favorite Small Town of Elkin or visit any of the 15 vineyards & wineries within a 15 minute drive.

If you're looking for longer hikes, Stone Mountain State Park is 20 minutes away and the Blue Ridge parkway is 30 minutes. We will gladly provide hiking, dining and vineyard recommendations and itineraries upon request.

You might see or encounter wildlife while on our property or neighborhood, including, but not limited to: deer, raccoon, skunk, opossum, fox, reptiles, many kinds of birds, bees, wasps, mosquitoes, spiders, ants. These creatures reside in nature and we have little control over them.

You will feel as though you are miles away from it all, but just minutes to everything!

Oasis for Wine Country!!!

This place is truly a hidden treasure! The serene location with minimal traffic made our stay incredibly peaceful. We loved relaxing on the charming front porch in the mornings, sipping coffee and enjoying the tranquil sight of cows grazing nearby. Evenings were just as delightful as we grilled steaks and lounged on the private back porch. The home is impressively well-equipped with all the utensils, pans, and dishes you could need, along with a high-end washer and dryer that added to the convenience. The inviting decor and cozy atmosphere instantly made us feel at home. It was the perfect base for our ‘wino’ weekend in Elkin. Highly recommend—5 stars without hesitation!

Wonderful place!

Lovely place with fun game room in area close to Elkin but felt like in the middle of no where (in a good way!!) Owners very responsive and helpful. House was stocked with items like it was your own home. Will definitely stay here again!!!

Country Cottage

The house and property were well maintained. It’s in a great location between Stone Mountain and Vineyard. The house is well stocked and cozy. We enjoyed our stay !

Cozy Cottage; great location

Cottage was so cute and cozy and so very well appointed with thoughtful attention to almost anything you might need. Bed and sofa were very comfortable. Kitchen is well equiped. Cottage is very private, but still in proximity of hikes and wineries we wanted to go to. We ran out of time to do all we had planned, so we plan to return!

Cozy cottage

This is the 2nd year we have stayed here. We love this little cottage, it is so peaceful and the kids love the game room. The owners have such nice touches all through out the house to make you feel welcome.

Stone mountain trail

We hiked the stone mountain trail and stone mountain waterfalls. There are great views atop stone mountain of the blue ridge mountains . Went on a trip to Mt Airy (Mayberry) lots of memorabilia from the TV show. It was a great vacation.

Wonderful place

After a mixup due to a family issue with regarding check in, things got rectified. Awesome place in a centrally located site for us. We were within 10 minutes of the 5 different wineries that we visited. A very nice place that we will be back to stay.

Never disappoints!

I have stayed at this cottage numerous times and the hosts are fantastic. You have the best of both worlds. Quiet and relaxation at the cottage but you are just minutes from great local food and more wineries than you can explore in one trip!

A Great Place to Get Away and Relax

This cottage is as cozy and inviting as so many previous renters have noted. The extra touches like coffee, tea, and breakfast bars were especially appreciated. The location is just about perfect- far enough in the country to feel like you're really getting away, but at the same time you're within easy driving distance of Elkin and Stone Mountain. Excellent hosts, cottage and experience!

Second visit

This is our second trip to the area and second time staying here. It’s a perfect house for our family of 4, location is ideal and the space was just enough for all of us. It was another great experience! We had everything we needed and more at the house, it was clean, stocked and comfortable. It’s our staple place now!

Cozy home away from home

My coworker and myself stayed for a few nights while working out of town, and it was a lovely place to 'land' each night. Owners were very accommodating when we had to add another night due to tricky weather that was coming in. We were so grateful, and we'd stay again!

Anniversary/Birthday celebration

This property was perfect for us. Really close to Elkin and several wineries we wanted to visit. They had everything we needed. The kitchen was great and it was so nice to have coffee and tea available for us. We enjoyed the porch while listening to the neighboring horses and cows. So peaceful!

Country quiet

A lovely property in the country. Across the street was a cow pasture with a mix of Angus and Guernsey cows. The house was recently remodeled and completely furnished .

Great, cozy cabin with thoughtful amenities

We loved our little red roofed cabin in the woods. Although it was a tiny cabin it was packed with well thought out details. We loved all the hooks and shelves that were in place to get our belongs up and out of the way. The room AC’s worked beautifully and cooled things off quickly. Communication with the owners was prompt and easy. We hope to come back and stay in this lovely property.

Amazing Stay

My wife and I were able to enjoy a visit with our NC family in a home-like atmosphere. Our adult daughter and 5-year granddaughter stayed over once. All 3 grandchildren and their parents came and enjoyed the games available to us, especially hillbilly golf. What memories we made and will cherish during our stay in this beautiful home.

Country beautiful…

We traveled to the area for the “Escape from the interstate” yard sale experience. The place was quaint and nicely done. Beautiful wooden floors throughout, nice appliances, and tastefully furnished helped make our experience wonderful. It’s nestled in the country with beautiful views, cattle neighbors, and three wooden crosses visible on the top of the hill. It is located about 15 minutes from downtown Elkin. It’s just a nice drive in the country.

Comfy Stay

Cozy little spot in the country. The drive out was beautiful & relaxing. The mattresses are very comfortable and was so nice after returning from the hospital. The game room kept my son entertained. Matt was awesome at getting back with me right away to book the same day.

Perfect place for relaxation and restoration

I always travel to this cabin alone and enjoy the peaceful area yet the proximity to so many fantastic restaurants and wineries. It would also make a great girl get away or family adventure. Highly recommend!

We are a family of four that purchased this property in 2020 as an escape from Charlotte. The cottage is our happy place and we are thrilled to be able to share it with others.

The cottage is 12 minutes from the town of Elkin with great restaurants, wineries and breweries and also just 20 minutes from Stone Mountain State Park which has some of the best hiking in the area.

We can provide itineraries, suggestions and recommendations for all types of travelers. We have also added a game room in the garage for added space during the spring, summer and fall months.
