Lake Michigan beach & guest home in Saugatuck with frontage on the channel at the pier head with a great walkable beach and just doors from 1000 or so acre Saugatuck Dunes State Park. Can walk to beach with just a few stairs. Main home and guest home are great for entertaining with 2 kitchens; main home has 2 center islands and eating areas inside and out on a huge lakeside wraparound porch. NO Weddings on site but MANY wedding/event centers within a few short miles. New heated in-ground pool 2023. 2022 Hot tub. Guest house has 5 bedrooms and 4 baths, a 2nd laundry & a 2nd full kitchen with a ping pong table below with couches and a futon sleeper and sliders to new in-ground heated pool (heated at 85 degrees). Main house has 3 en suites each with king bed and balconies/decking on both sides of the rooms.

Book a full 7 days at both main/guest house in the summer Saturday to Saturday between Memorial & Labor Day weeks and included is a complimentary 4-hour each trip about my 60' fantail motor yacht with captain for 6 persons. An Unforgettable Experience at an Absolutely Stunning Lakefront Retreat!

From the moment we arrived, we were absolutely blown away by this incredible property. The home and its setting are even more beautiful than the photos — truly breathtaking! Designed to resemble a boat, with lots of port-type windows, outdoor decks that make you feel like you’re looking out from a cruise ship, and an abundance of good vibes, this home is truly a piece of art. It offered the most peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, allowing us to completely unwind. We all left feeling rested, rejuvenated, and completely at peace. We were initially hesitant about staying separately between the main home and guest house, but were pleased to find that the homes are conveniently connected through the lower level, which made the stay even more enjoyable.The aroma and sounds coming out of the kitchen were simply amazing. Chef Carmen Gutierrez was nothing short of amazing. Every meal was authentic — some of the best food we've ever had, hands down. The care and quality put into each dish, Carmen put our stay over the top! This is more than a place to stay; it's an experience in itself. If you're looking for luxury, tranquility, and unforgettable memories, look no further. Highly recommend!

Andrea's property is gorgeous, the pictures don't do it justice. Ed the handyman gave us a tour when we got there, which was super appreciated. One of the best places I've stayed!

The best property on the Michigan coast

Hands down the best spot along with Michigan coast for a celebration! The perfect location and accommodations for my wife's 50th bday party. To have a main and guest house works great for larger parties. Access to a chef was a treat you don't get at most properties and the beach at sunset was spectacular! Everything was easy and first class!! Thank you Andrea and Carmen!!

Fabulous location & home

We had an amazing stay and enjoyed walks on the sandy beach and amazing sunsets. The location is unique and private with unbeatable views of Lake Michigan and the channel. Lots of gathering areas and space indoors as well as a large lakeside deck that is perfect for sunset watching or just listening to the waves. A beautiful retreat and would highly recommend!

Beautiful, serene location. Magnificent views of Lake Michigan and the Saugatuck channel. Very spacious home with all the amenities. Hard to imagine ever staying anywhere else on Lake Michigan. Looking forward to our next time!

Ideal Lake Michigan Getaway

This was our second year staying in the home and we came back for a reason! There is no better spot to enjoy Lake Michigan, boats and the Saugatuck/Douglas area than this property. The pool was a LOVELY addition this year that we took full advantage of. The beach, sunsets and views are second-to-none. Thank you for another wonderful week on Lake MI!

One of our favorite trips

The only downside of our trip was not being able to stay longer! The property was incredible with one of the most beautiful views we’ve ever seen. The amenities could not have been better—from the heated pool, to the hot tub, to the beach…there was a place for everyone to enjoy with a large group. You cannot beat the expansive private beach and gorgeous sunsets. I immediately looked up potential dates for returning next year after our trip ended. It was truly special and I hope to be back here one day!

Simply the best view and Lake access

We have stayed at countless vacation rentals on the lake shore in Saugatuck/Douglas/Holland and this propert wins the prize for views and lake access. No big dune to walk down - the private beach is mere steps from the back porch. Owner was extremely responsive and took care of the few minor issues we experienced - none worth noting here. We look forward to returning!

Saugatuck House

We had an outstanding time during our week at the house. The view from the house and the property is absolutely gorgeous. In fact, it was so amazing, that no one wanted to leave the house! There is plenty of space and privacy, a great kitchen, game room, and huge deck space. The private beach was quiet and private. Overall, a fantastic vacation.

Amazing & relaxing getaway

The house and property were amazing. The views were immaculate and the sandy beach (including the bon fire on the beach) was great. Andrea, the property manager, was quick to respond and receptive to any issue or questions that we had. There was a small situation that arose during our stay and Andrea was on top of it, going above and beyond; offering us a free yacht cruise and a free stay at her additional lake house. Would definitely return!

June 24 Retreat

Everything was wonderful with this stay except for the Wifi. It may have been because there were 12 of us but it was very weak at the guesthouse but better at the main house. I was surprised at the big gaps between the stairs inside so we had to put gates up so our little dog wouldn't fall through. The steps are very steep leading to the beach so I didn't use them although others in my party did. The host was responsive with my questions. The house is massive and a great place to host a family reunion or a group of friends.

Breath Taking Views - Rare opportunity!

Our week long visit during ‘Indian Summer’ was amazing! We were in town for a wedding that took place at a local venue. We had enough room and endless views for a few dinner parties for out of town guests and meeting the other side of the family. The owner was even gracious enough to allow a mini photo shoot of the bridal party. Breathtaking views from nearly every angle of this stunning home. The sunsets were surreal! The home is an absolute masterpiece in its design, layout and finishes.Massive wrap around decks and shaded areas with gorgeous, comfy teak furnishings. Absolutely one of the best luxury homes my husband and I ever rented! We felt quite honored to be able to experience this extremely rare setting. The house is surrounded by 7 acres of gorgeous golden dune grasses. That alone was part of the magic. The seclusion out on a dune like this is something almost impossible to find elsewhere. The home was extremely well equipped for entertaining. Graciously supplied with just about everything you could imagine. Carmen the chef was superb and fit right in with our family and lifestyle. Chuck the boat captain was very down to earth, a true Midwesterner who made everyone feel welcomed. The owner could not have been anymore attentive and accommodating. We are already looking forward to our next visit! We also LOVED downtown Saugatuck! The charm and history were such a lovely surprise.

Living the Dream!

We were enthralled, enchanted and ecstasized with our stay at Petrichor. Yes, it was the dead of winter but the magnificent splendor was not lost nor less charming. The proprietor leaves no stone unturned in making guests feel comfortable and pampered. None of the five star hotels we've stayed at the world over provided anywhere near the amenities we experienced at Petrichor. Yet, we understand there's a pool and other goodies planned for this paradise. Summer cannot come soon enough! While perusing downtown Saugatuck, a few shopkeepers inquired of our lodging. We received a few "oohs" and "aahs" from them when answering, boastfully, we might add. Apparently, Petrichor is considered the preeminent accommodation by the locals. We cannot recommend any further or more highly our stay at Petrichor. You only live once.

Simply Amazing!

If you are looking for a place to stay in Saugatuck or the surrounding area, stop looking now and book this property! The kitchen is wonderful and stocked with anything you would need for your stay, however, I would recommend that you have Chef Carmen prepare meals for you when you visit. She is exceptionally talented and super nice too! The swimming pool, hot tub, private beach with fire pit, pool table, ping pong table, and house all provide ample entertainment for your stay. If you would rather take in the view of the Kalamazoo River and Lake Michigan, try any window or seat in the house, grab a glass of wine and prepare to be amazed. Plenty of covered porches for some shade as you enjoy the panoramic views and feel the cool Michigan breeze. I have booked many VRBO’s and Andrea was the most responsive host I have communicated with. Finally, take some time to enjoy a ride on the yacht with Captain Chuck. The yacht is perfect and Chuck kept us in good company and was a fountain of knowledge about the area as we floated by. I hope we make it back again to see Saugatuck…Petrichor was so perfect we didn’t want to leave! If you do love to explore and can get yourself to leave the property, the surrounding towns are quaint and beautiful with plenty of activity and the nearby state parks provide hiking trails for outdoor fun. One criticism is…nope, can’t come up with one. Make the memories! Book the Petrichor!

Perfection

This is my third time renting this house, and my first time writing a review. I have rented it once in the summer, and twice in the winter. First was for a shared birthday week with my parents, kids, and siblings. We all agreed it was the best vacation week ever, due to the privacy and being surrounded by nature at a seriously spectacular home. We enjoyed walking the beach, splashing around, collecting some driftwood, and sitting just to watch the waves and the boats. The pictures do not do it justice. Having rented this now twice in the “off season” .... It is officially my favorite time to be there. The snow and ever-changing scenery of the lake, no boats, no swimming, just walks around the sprawling property while encountering deer, bunnies, and seeing eagles on the trees on the other side of the channel. We brought our cross-country skis, snowshoes, made snow angels, and my teenager and her friend brought plastic sleds, we all felt like we were at a private ski resort. Then fireplace and hot chocolate while grandma and grandpa entertained us on the grand piano, lol. We had room for everyone, without feeling on top of each other, which was my biggest concern. I was doing remote work the entire time, so the strong Wi-Fi was greatly appreciated. My teenager was most happy with me having to call on the phone to find her, due to the size of the place. The outdoor hot tub in winter watching the stars is a memory for the books.

Incredible Spring Break Stay

Everything about this trip was ELITE. Communication was great, the property manager/owner really cares about your stay and experience, and you can feel that. The house itself is incredible. The kitchen, dining room, bedrooms, sitting rooms, deck space, game room, guest house, all simply outstanding. The beach is less than 50 steps from the door. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Appreciated the "accessories" - the hot tub, swimming pool, grills, Keurig, pool table, ping pong table, foosball table, PS5, and even the first aid kit (whoops). Thank you for the priceless family memories, I cannot wait to stay here again!

Best Lake Michigan home in the state. 360 degree decking on the main home with a guest house. 2 kitchens, 2 laundries, hot tub on the deck, huge beach, 7 acres, boat watching, nearly 1000 acre state park just a short walk/ski down the beach. Multi-million home. May be able to have private chef (if available). Possibly a 4 hour private sunset or day cruise aboard the classic one-of-a-kind fantail motor yacht, Yemaya, docked very near the home at the Safe Harbor Tower Marina. 15 minutes or less to Holland, Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville with farmer's markets, the arts, great shopping and entertainment, live outdoor concerts in summer and the best beach. Architecturally designed multi-million home with great entertaining spaces. Jacuzzi tub and gas log fireplace in the master suite. Streaming TV's in most every room. Billiards and ping pong tables. Wet bar upstairs. Ice maker, warming drawer, double Gaggenau ovens, 2 large refrigerator freezers in main home and a full kitchen in the guest house are all very well stocked for cooking and meals. Great teak outdoor furniture and some Adirondacks. Beach towels and all indoor linens provided. Multi million dollar home with multi million dollar views. 2-story living room has new gas log fireplace. Lots of room to gather together or spread out for a little alone time on the deck, in the house or on the beach. Check out Serenity for a sailing schooner or the Star of Saugatuck paddle boat. Pier for fishing & boat watching. Some of the best low bluff, walkable beach in a great location. Gated community of North Shore of Saugatuck with marinas & rentals of boats and fishing nearby. Rent a retro electric boat or a "doughnut" boat on the Kalamazoo River, climb to the top of Mt Baldy in Saugatuck or Mt Pisgah near the Holland State Park for some of the best views. Visit Oxbox Arts Camp or the John Ball Park Zoo or Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, summer performances at Hope College's Summer Repertory Theater or at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts. Many of the local farmer's markets are Wednesdays & Saturdays (Holland & South Haven) & Saugatuck has it's own. Demond's Groceries in Douglas is the closest but Family Fare on S Washington and Meijers on E 16th St in Holland or Meijers in South Haven have more selection and better produce.

Spectacular all year round with the nearly 1000 acre Saugatuck Dunes State Park just a short walk to our north past about 7 other beachfront homes and there's hundreds of acres on the south side of the pier and channel that is a preserve so this 7 acre property feels like it's much larger. Bring your own bikes or kayaks. We supply beach chairs & towels, outdoor furniture, indoor linens, a VERY well stocked kitchen(s), streaming TV's in nearly every room, a billiards and a ping pong table. 4 fireplaces.

Newer hot tub. Backup power generators. 3 full size refrigerator freezers. 3 ovens total, 2 laundries.
