Welcome to Tall Trees Cottage! - Now booking fall and winter with our lowest rates ever!

This charming 2 bedroom cottage is the perfect get-away location for business travelers, couples, small families and friend groups, and offer the best alternative to a Hotel/Motel in the area.

We are tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, but a short stroll to the Spring Lake public beach. The Grand Trunk bike bath is just a half a block, and we are walking distance to the famous Village Baker. Our extra large lot offers a camp-like feel underneath ancient oak and walnut trees. Want the beaches of Lake Michigan? The award winning beaches of Grand Haven are only 3 miles away.

In the home you will find:
• Two super comfortable bedrooms with queen beds with luxury linens
• A fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker, toaster, blender cooking utensils and basic spices and oils
• One full bathroom with charming claw-foot tub.
• Bright, open living room with 50" Smart TV and Bluetooth soundbar speaker
• Whole-house WiFi
• Full-sized washer and dryer

Outside the home you will enjoy our extra large lot complete a gas grill and back patio. The shaded, partially fenced in back yard is a great place to relax during the day, and at night enjoy cooking smores or conversation around our fire pit under the canopy of ancient oak and walnut trees.

Our guests have access to the entire home with the exception of a locked owners closet and the detached garage.

Nice Spot

Our stay was in the winter, so we weren’t able to take advantage of the close proximity to the lake. The house/cottage is a little more than a block away from the water. The place itself was very clean and exactly what we needed, a quiet little retreat to relax between social engagements. Highly recommended and if we’re ever back in the area, we would stay again!

Cute winter getaway

Overall the place was very cute and quiet for a weekend getaway. The cleanliness left us feeling comfortable almost like a home away from home. We felt very secure and relaxed. Can’t wait to come back in the summer!

One night deep winter stay

Cute home in a great location. Due to us staying during the extreme cold we did find the heating system for the home heated the bedrooms extremely well, but barely heated the kitchen/living room. Overall we would stay here again, and would not be a concern unless temperatures are below zero.

Disappointed

We arrived after dark and there was no way of seeing the house numbers. There was only a motion light at the back door that didn't stay on very long. The musty smell mentioned in other reviews was real. If you are sensitive to smells or have allergies be cautious. Outside could definitely use some TLC and curb appeal. We did end up leaving this rental and taking the hit for another area. Inside was not bad, the claw foot tub was small and needed more anti-slip measures added. Please add outdoor lighting for safety and identification purposes.

Inside was cute and updated. Clean and homey. Beds were great, kitchen was large and had all the amenities. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Tall Trees Cottage

Perfect location to nearby biking trails and great restaurants. The claw bathtub/shower is a little small and could use a grab bar on the wall to assist in getting in and out of the shower. Loved the bright lighting in the bathroom. Would recommend this home unless it’s difficult for you to get in and out of a tub.

Very comfortable and great location

My friend and I enjoyed our stay. The house was cleaned nicely and the beds were very comfortable. The location was great for driving to Grand Haven State Park, where we spent most of our time. The trail is right by the house and is nice for taking walks. Communication with Frederick was easy. I would stay again.

Nice Location

Great location just a short drive to the beach. This is an older home but clean and nice decorated inside. There are some great restaurants nearby.

Few misleading things

Location was great first of all. If you say it has air conditioning you should indicate that it is window units, I do not like window units for ac, they're loud and annoying and not very practical, was not at all happy when I seen that. Second, if you say you provide towels that should include more than 2 washcloths, we were staying for five days, why in the hell would you only have 2 washcloths? Plenty of towels though. Bathtub was made for a child, very small. Sheets on the beds were so thin you could read through them. The beds at most were full size not queen. Ceiling fan in one room didn't work. Ice machine didn't work. Light over garage goes on off every 5 minutes all night which is great while you're sleeping in one bedroom, not. House smelled musty, fan was going in basement when we arrived, left it that way, idk. Couch was pretty beat up and smelled awful -wash it or buy some spray at least, it was gross. The other chair in living room I didn't dare to sit in as it was leaning and looked broke. Britta water pitcher in fridge left with half water in it but scum on it, why? For what we spent it was no where near what we have stayed in the past. We actually left early, we were gone on Wednesday by 10am. I couldn't spend another sleepless night. Again, the town and bike trail etc was nice. Disappointed and mad about loss of money
