Perfect pet friendly beach getaway located right off Ridge Rd., close to restaurants and shopping. This quaint cottage offers all the amenities, with bright, open rooms, perfect for a comfortable vacation. This house has a large screened porch, outside shower and fire pit on the patio.Been working hard over the cold months to make Josie's Getaway as perfect as ever. We listen to your comments and are always looking to improve our cottage. For 2025 we have New Queen Mattress, Recushioned sofa and new deck furniture . LINENS AND TOWELS ARE PROVIDED WITH THIS PROPERTY. Please ask about our cancelation policy. 60-day cancellation prior to occupancy date (100% refund minus processing fee, travel insurance and credit card fee's). Pet friendly home $75. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at Josie’s Getaway. This is my second time staying there. It was well stocked with supplies we might need. It truly does feel like a home away from home. There were only two issues that we had. The twin bed that is on the right in the second bedroom felt slanted when you are laying on it. I couldn’t figure out why that was though. Nothing looked broken. The other issues is the pillows on the couches had pet hair all over them. I am aware it is a pet friendly home so I wasn’t surprised but they might need vacuuming. Other than that, we really had a great time and I plan on coming back in November. Thank you so much for everything!

It was clean and welcoming. The owners , Jaye and Jodi, make you feel like family. Josie’s Getaway definitely feels like home! From the well stocked kitchen to the little free library, Josie’s is so stress free. The porch with swing is so charming and our family loves the fire pit. Beach themed with pony books and pictures, this house is a gem! Truly one of the best places to stay on the island! Our family loves and recommends Josie’s Getaway- 100%!

Reviewer Comments: We love the location and the rental is very nice and fully stocked with everything we need.The only complaints we are he living room furniture. The sofas are very uncomfortable and worn out it’s difficult to sit on them especially if you have back and knee problems. And the TV channels are not good at all. We couldn’t even get local news!

Rest and relaxation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We LOVED staying at Josie’s for the week! Never turned on the tv since there is so much to do! And all the details they put into their guests experience from having indoor and outdoor games, beach chairs, the adored porch bed which is great for afternoon naps, and the welcome bag! We LOVE Chincoteague and have for many years, this house will be one we stay in again for sure! The only suggestion is to upgrade the queen mattress. Aside from that everything was wonderful and felt like home.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This beachy bungalow is perfect. We have stayed in this vacation home year after year. Sometime staying multiple weeks a year. It’s definitely our favorite. It’s clean and it’s pet friendly. The homeowner really appreciates the guests. I appreciate that the house is well equipped with everything we need to be comfortable for the week. Linens and towels are provided, even beach towels. This homeowner really tries to think of all the needs from a renters point of view. On an island where there are so many places to stay, this one is such a great option. We call this home our home away from home. We treat it like it’s our home and we even know some of the full time neighbors now. It’s a 10 out of 10 for our family.

The owners also left a cute gift bag including gift cards and a bandanna for our chihuahua! The neighborhood was quiet, we met some nice folks while walking, the location was convenient, and we'll definitely stay here again if we return!

A Terrific Getaway at Josie’s

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We just spent a very comfortable week at Josie’s Getaway. This cottage was very clean and so beautifully appointed and decorated in a very appropriate beach and pony theme. The kitchen was well stocked with all the basic necessities plus more to make for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms were welcoming with comfortable beds and plenty of closet and drawer space. The bathrooms, too, were very clean and comfortable. The weather allowed us to enjoy the screened in back porch and the backyard furniture as well as a morning cup of coffee on the front porch. The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe. This rental was a wonderful find and we would definitely return if/when we visit Chincoteague again!

Josie’s was very clean and beautifully appointed with a very appropriate beach and pony theme! It worked out well for 3 adults and 2 dogs. There were several neighborhood cats that kept the dogs entertained along with an occasional deer and squirrel! Next time I would reserve directly through Harbor Rentals and save a little $$!
