Les points forts : Propreté, arrivée, communication, emplacement et exactitude de l’annonce
Thoroughly recommend accomodation
I travelled there from the UK with my wife and 9 years old child.
Paying the accommodation deposit was more complicated than in the UK because we had to ask for the accommodation owner's bank account details and do the bank-to-bank transfer. Also, expect extra costs (£7-£15) for the money transfer between the UK and Germany.
On arrival, the check-in process was a bit tricky, and we had to phone the owner to get the keys to the apartment. The instruction about how to get the keys was missing in the Vrbo check-in description. Fortunately, the owner's phone was listed next to the apartment's door, and the owner speaks English well enough to get us through. I suggest mounting a key safety box with a changeable access code. This solution can simplify the check-in and check-out processes yet be safe as the access code can be changed each time a new guest arrives.
The owner welcomed us with sparking wine, local passes for buses and discounts for local attractions. We found this as a lovely surprise. We have found the passes very useful.
Also, we got all information from the owner we needed.
The apartment is very well equipped. We found it very spacious for us. With the exception of the first day and night, the apartment was well-heated. I am guessing the heating was turned down before we arrived; hence it took about 24 hours to warm the apartment up.
The only wish we had is that the hand soap and a second toilet roll in the bathroom (with toilet) were provided. Those are cheap items, and we don't think it would affect much the rental costs. But maybe those are not standard amenities in Germany-rental accommodations as in the UK.
The property is well positioned, within a short walk of distance to local shops and restaurants.
It's behind another building, providing an excellent sound barrier from the main street. The only noisy disturbance is the next neighbour's church's bell. It does not peal every hour, though, but it did at 8 and 9 every morning, waking us up. It's not a good alarm clock for holiday time.
Regarding the local restaurants, we found delicious German meals in the 'Gasthaus Unterstein' and 'Alpenhotel Brunneck'.
We tried three times to get to the 'Waldhauser Bräu' restaurant but without success. Looks like they do not like foreigners.
In general, we had a lovely time there. The owner provided all we needed to enjoy the visit.
We appreciate their hospitality very much.
We thoroughly recommend them and hope to come back one day.
