Peaceful getaway close to Grand Canyon

Enjoyed our stay at this peaceful home. Close to Grand Canyon so we enjoyed our days at the canyon and evenings looking at stars from the outdoor seating area of the house. While it was only myself and my husband, this home is perfect for small families. Games and TV inside, and grill outside make it a perfect quiet getaway. Pat and Kristy were always quick to respond and very hospitable. We came here after our elopement and they had left us a card and treats which was so very thoughtful of them! 10/10 recommend.

Perfect Base Spot For Visiting Grand Canyon

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days while we explored the Grand Canyon area and it was the perfect little retreat outside of busier outside park area. Beautiful sunrises over the mountains, and a nice fire pit area for enjoying the stars at night too! All of the little details are covered to make your stay relaxing and care free. The front porch was an amazing bonus spot to relax too. Having the washer and drier helped us to pack lighter and leave with clean clothes. This would definitely be a bonus for a family.

Peaceful Setting

This home was a comfortable distance, 20-30 minutes, from Grand Canyon Village, giving us access to groceries and other supplies on the way to and from. Compact and efficient, it also gave us sunset, moonrise and dark skies for star gazing.

Comfortable stay near Grand Canyon National Park

This property is about 30 minutes from Grand Canyon National Park. We liked the privacy and peaceful area. The house was clean and well stocked. Owner was easy to communicate with before and during our stay.

Great experience!

Our family of four enjoyed our stay, which included a day at the canyon and a sunset roasting marshmallows around the fire at the house. Would definitely recommend!

Heaven!

This property was heaven. Very private, great amenities and close to the Grand Canyon. So many thoughtful items...outdoor and indoor games, firewood cut and ready to go for the fire pit, even seasonings and kitchen supplies like foil and plastic wrap. Saw wildlife including jack rabbits, fox, lots of birds. Loved it here!

Great stay for out visit to Grand Canyon

We stayed 2 nights over our Spring Break trip with our 3 kids (ages 5, 8 and 10). An easy drive into the National Park and the property was stocked with essentials and games for the kids to play, which was very helpful by this point in our trip (this was our 4th stop). Property managers were super helpful when i needed to adjust our check-in day about 2 months before our stay to add a stop on our trip before we stayed here.

Lovely stay in your lovely getaway home!

WE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE

We had the best time 2 sisters and best friend.The views from this property are amazing.Close to Grand Canyon and day drives to Sedona and Flagstaff and Camp Verde and Williams a really cool town.We had sunshine,snow,wind and enjoyed every moment. Kristy and Pat have a wonderful place clean comfortable and felt like HOME.We hope to go back in the fall and visit places we didn't get to see and just sit on the porch and enjoy the view.

Outstanding Ranch Getaway!

My family stayed here as a jump-off point for a day-trip to the Grand Canyon. Sure, there are hotels that are closer to the GC, but a little house like this lets you barbeque your own meals, and sit by the fire and look up at all the stars at night, which we did. There is a little twin house about 70 yards away, just far enough you don't really hear the guests at that house. Otherwise, you have a 180 degree view from the deck, from which you can see for miles. The house itself is perfectly clean and well-equipped, and everything worked - TV, internet, washer/dryer, grill, A/C - everything. Everything seemed to be new and was perfect. The owners, who were quick to respond to any questions with a high level of detail, obviously have a passion for providing a great experience to renters. Fantastic!

A fantastic Retreat in a wonderful location!

The Retreat Ranch House is a carefully crafted piece of luxury in a wide wildnerness. The location is stunning: you can stand on the wide, sturdy wooden porch of the Retreat and look out to the mountains around Flagstaff - we saw some spectacular storms whilst here, and the skies are great! The Retreat is also so convenient for getting to the Grand Canyon National park - great for catching the sunrise or staying to watch the sunset at the South Rim. The Retreat itself is modern and luxuriously stocked - the hosts have spared little expense in providing their guests with comfort and amenities, including: full-size washer and dryer, great bathrooms and showers, lots of storage, easy-to access hob/ oven and good fridge/ freezer. The "trail packs" for hiking and water bottles the host left were a lovely touch. Aside from the large and comfortable dining table outside on the (covered) porch, the further outdoor seating area and solar-lit paths are beautiful. We saw hares and hummingbirds, as well as bats at dusk. Would definitely stay again, and for longer.

Fantastic for a Family of 4 (or 5)

This property was a modern oasis on a prairie style ranch. Every comfort you could possibly need. Every morning was beautiful, sitting on the porch with our coffee watching the sunrise and listening to the far off rooster crow. We were visited by a few wild rabbits, many different birds (including an active nest in the porch rafters), and multiple humming birds to the feeder. So peaceful and quiet and a feeling of privacy...knowing that town (and the GCNP) was just 20 minutes away. The hosts were very responsive to our every question/request and would refill the firepit wood daily. The only suggestion I would make to the hosts would be to invest in some blackout curtains in the bedrooms (windows face east and the sun rises early). We made do by taping black garbage bags over the windows...tacky but it did the trick ;) Would absolutely return to this property, it was so hard to leave.

Grand Canyon Nirvana!

Let me first start with complementing Pat and Kristi for being amazing host. Everything outlined in the description of the property was not only highly anticipated, our expectations were easily surpassed. Pat provided consistent communication when needed and even stopped by during one of the days to refill our firewood surplus further showing their focus on being great hosts to my family. If you’re looking for solitude mixed with modern amenities when needed, look no further. While the canyon provides amazing outdoors, hiking, breathtaking views, and more to offer than anyone can accomplish in a weekend, there’s a little solitude knowing the end of each day you’re coming back to this gateway to Grand Canyon property. (Let’s you push a little longer on that hike knowing you have a fantastic bed and property to return to). A little tip, make sure before building your first fire on this amazing property that you take some time to admire the night sky. If you’re not used to a blanket of stats in the sky, this will be as close to heaven as you can get. The moon stayed tucked away until after 11pm giving us hours of star gazing before closing out the night around the fire pit sharing stories and pictures from the day spent exploring and site seeing (and maybe some s’mores but don’t tell my diet). I think the most important characteristic of a great stay is your eagerness on being able to return to the same property. While I know this region has many areas you can stay, look no further as this is our go to spot for every trip in the future. Leaving you 20 minutes from the south rim, and centrally located in between the east and west rim, there really is no better spot to take in a weekend, week, or even longer at The Retreat! Thanks Pat and Kristi for an amazing and memorable property. It’s not often that the place you stay becomes part of the focus of telling the stories to your friends about your amazing vacation. Ein wunderschönes Haus

Auf unserer Reise durch die USA war das bisher das beste Haus, was wir erleben durften. Es ist für alles gesorgt, ein sehr warmer Empfang mit eingeschalteten Lampen, Kühlung und Snacks. Selbst Kaffee und alles dafür erforderliche ist da. Es ist super sauber und sehr gemütlich. Die Terrasse ein Traum mit zwei super bequemen Schaukelstühlen und wir haben am offenen Feuer an der Feuerstelle gesessen und die Sterne angeschaut. Es ist noch schöner als auf den Fotos. Pat und Kristy sind mehr als perfekte Gastgeber. Tausend Dank für diesen wunderschönen Aufenthalt.
