When sending a booking request, please include a few details about your trip. This greatly helps us reduce spam requests and to know that you as our guest will care about the place where you stay! This is a farm property and a small working homestead. We are glad to host you and trust that you will enjoy it respectfully!
Welcome! We decided to make this old trailer into something new, and something that reflects who we are and the kind of experience we want for guests - something far enough away from the busyness of the city, yet close enough to familiarities and conveniences for people to have options, such as The Ranch events center (and Blue Arena) and plenty of dining and shopping. We hope you enjoy it!
We hope you'll enjoy your stay in this completely renovated trailer with simple and clean furnishings and thoughtful amenities.
Our homestead is a throwback to some original ways of life! You'll see the dairy cow, sheep, pigs, ducks, cats, chickens, and a farming family doing their daily work out in the pastures, gardens, and around the outbuildings as you relax or work on your own projects while traveling.
We are about 1/4 mile from a local county highway, so there is road noise during the day and some at night, most of which you do not hear from inside, and not much of a distraction even when outside. Pro tip: the weekend mornings are particularly quiet for road noise.
There is good cellular coverage at the property, so you will be able to use your phones and computers if you wish. There is no TV inside - we hope you will spend time with each other, reading, or relaxing "unplugged" as much as possible! There are a few books and games and other delightful things we are adding over time, such as a barbecue grill, fire pit, and porch furniture.
Kitchen and Food Prep:
The kitchen is equipped for up to six guests with plates, bowls, silverware, cooking utensils, a small convection oven, a 2-burner cooktop, pots & pans, and a sink with cleaning supplies!
Bathroom/Shower:
We provide hand soap for the bathroom sink, but we do not provide shampoo or soap for the shower. You will need to bring your own.
PLEASE READ!
Cooling (A/C note):
The cooling is an evaporative cooler, NOT an A/C unit, but that is the only option for listing a cooling unit. This means the cool air is much more humid than with air conditioning, but is still very effective.
Heating:
Heating is controlled by baseboard heat and each room has its own thermostat for you to set at your comfort level.

WINTER:
1.) The baseboard heat keeps the place very comfortable throughout the season.
2.) Snowfall depends year-to-year; typical to get occasional snow from November to April.
SPRING:
1.) The temperatures in northern Colorado can vary greatly in the Spring, so be prepared for most weather conditions.
2.) The wind can really pick up at times. Be aware with your doors (house and your vehicle). Some days are windy all day, other days it comes and goes.
3.) Moth season is generally during May/June and lasts 2-3 weeks. They are not harmful, but they can get nestled into crevices and surprise us at times. We try to control them, but it is difficult.
SUMMER:
1.) We will make the evaporative cooler usable as soon as it appears we are done with frost nights, normally around Mother's Day.
2.) The daylight is abundant and the sunrises and sunsets are long and beautiful.
AUTUMN/FALL:
1.) Many people think this is the most captivating season for Colorado. As with Spring, the weather varies greatly.
2.) This time of year tends to be calm, but October and November can bring early snow.
3.) We will winterize (turn off) the evaporative cooler for the year in October, or sooner if overnight freeze temperatures are forecast.
