Honeymoon

Great vacation rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rented the cabin for a week. Great location and very nice cabin. The third floor loft is certainly for the kids as the ceilings are low. We would rent it again.

Unluxe Lodge

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Before booking I specifically asked if cabin was located on narrow curvy roads without guardrails and was told it wasn't only to arrive at night to find exactly that, no pole lights either. The cabin itself does not match the pictures it seems much nicer/newer in pics. The hot tub is old we did not use. It is also not on safe deck due to actually seeing first of two bears one cabin over. The worst part was finding a mouse in upstairs bathroom the morning we checked out.I am fully aware the bear is part of nature that I chose to stay in but I don't believe anyone wants to vacation with rodents. On a positive note, while we were lost because I was told there was a sign that says name of property out front (there wasn't) but there is a sign that says Woodlands?? The man I spoke with was helpful enough to get us there. Needless to say will not ever return to this property.

No heat in bedroom

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Got to the cabin temperature outside was in the 40 or so and the bedroom had no heat .Yes it was fixed the next day but we just about froze. This maintained man came in and turned the fan on full time so that worked. He broke the furnace door and just left it broken.We have rented from Elk Springs so many times but now they don’t keep up with the cabins.

BAD Management Company/Location

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent 3 of our 4 days at the cabin dealing with the management company. The upstairs balcony door to the kids' bedroom did not have a lock on it, which is very unsafe. We called day one to inform them, the lock didn't get repaired. We were promised it would be fixed first thing the next morning. Came back that night and the door not only wasn't fixed but they left the door wide open all day. It was closed and latched when we left for the day. We called again, they sent another maintenance guy out (he was very nice and helpful) but he showed up just before 11:00PM, which woke our kids up to fix the door. The Cabin itself is nice but the location is horrible. The location very low and surrounded by trees. The wind took out a tree which fell on the cabin and woke everyone up. After the tree hit the cabin, it then fell on our vehicle and shattered our windshield. Also because the Cabin location is so low, the property had trash laying around it at all times. We have stayed with Elk Springs several times prior but this experience was VERY bad. They also have a policy that you cannot speak with management even though I have asked to several times.

Nice Cabin, Needs Some Finishing Touches

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There are positive things to say about Luxe Lodge. But there are a few negative points as well.The negative first: The directions link to Google maps provided by ESL is not correct. The master bedroom/bath downstairs is cold if the temp drops. The ceiling vent should be turned away from the bed. The grill is a quality grill for cooking, but there were no grill utensils. Finally, there are 0 curtains or blinds on the 2nd floor, with houses looking right down into the room, so no privacy either there or while sitting in the hot tub.Next, the good: The upgraded appliances are very nice and the entire place was very clean. It's very cozy on the 2nd floor with comfortable furniture and a fireplace that puts out good heat. The kitchen is set up well with enough dishes/glassware for a small family or couple. The top floor is very kid-friendly with the beds , gaming table and unique outdoor deck. Also, the area was quiet in the evening hours.Overall, good for a family of 4 with young children.

Amazing Get Away!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental was AMAZING! It was perfect for our family of four. Our kiddos had the upstairs loft to themselves, we were on the bottom level, with the living room/kitchen in the middle. HUGE soaking tub was perfect to relax. No neighbors right up on you, but nearby. Cabin was super clean, updated and modern, comfortable, and no issues. Washer/dryer in the main bathroom. Fully stocked kitchen. It was perfect. We did see a momma bear with her cub in the front yard on the first day, so don't leave food out!

Reviewer Comments: The pictures of this place are beautiful, but it felt like everything was just a façade. Like this place was a quick flip done cheaply. The door to the balcony on the middle floor was broken, which we were informed of the day of our check in, so we weren't able to utilize that space, which is where the grill is and most of the outdoor seating. The hot tub felt like it lacked privacy, being on the deck where just anyone could walk up. The footboard on the bed cracked all the way across the bottom. This place was fine, just oversold for what it is.

Could have been better

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I arrived at 9:30 pm. When we arrived the front door was all the way open. My husband and I was unsure if someone was in the house. It was very alarming. I tried to call the resort’s number, but just got their voicemail. We entered the home and had to check every room and closet to make sure no one was inside. Where the door was wide open there was several bugs in the home. The house was very cold as well. A few other small things: the jets in one corner of the hot tub wasn’t working, tub faucet hose leaks, one of the microwave under lights was out, lamp light flickers and buzzes in the bedroom, Wi-Fi doesn’t work downstairs in the bedroom, food crumbs on the rugs.After settling in, we were able to enjoy the soaking tub and hot tub. The water always stayed warm. The fireplace was nice as well. There was several towels and soap provided. We had a nice weekend, but just wished our first night went differently and wished the place was taken better care of.
