This lovely guest house apartment sleeps 1-2 guests for true hospitality, has a designer's touch, is tastefully furnished, and is ideal for artists, business-travelers, energy-healers, explorers, globe-trotters, magicians, meditators, minimalists, musicians, poets, writers, self-reflection-types, songwriters, spiritual-gurus … and Lovebirds.

The 1 BR, 1 BA apartment is private and completely separate from the main house - with its own private entrance. The bed is super-comfy and linens are plush and cozy. A spacious and open living room includes original built-ins and oak hardwood floors, space for working remotely, and 42" flat-screen smart-TV.

Home is available for nightly, weekly and monthly rental.

Mission Hills San Diego Trip

Beautiful newly refurbished, very clean, and fully equipped apartment. A quality rental in one of the best neighborhoods in San Diego. Super nice host who stays in touch and is easy to contact. It’s a cozy apartment that we will rent again.

Thanksgiving in San Diego

This apartment is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. It is conveniently located on a quiet tree-lined street, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Plenty of natural light, spotlessly clean, nicely updated and a very comfortable bed. Larry the host is very responsive. Ample parking available on the street. Bathroom is "compact" and access stairs may be a bit steep if elderly.

Spring Break in San Diego

This apartment is located above a garage in central Mission Hills, convenient to shops, bars and restaurants, across the street from a private elementary school. It is spotlessly clean and has plenty of sunlight and fresh air. The access stairs are a bit steep with narrow treads (typical of the time the property was built 100 years ago), but there is a handrail to aid support - be careful carrying your suitcase up and down the stairs. Larry the property manager is friendly and very responsive. The apartment is well equipped for a single person or couple for a short stay. The kitchen area is small and only has a minibar refrigerator, so limited capacity for groceries. The fridge tends to be noisy - that was the only negative.

Not one issue. The location was prefect for me in a nice neighborhood and walking distance to restaurants, etc. The property was just the right size and feel for me as a business solo traveller.

Lovely apartment in a beautiful neighborhood

We came to San Diego to visit friends and family in the neighborhood after moving away nine years ago. The apartment was a perfect base for all our activities. The bed was comfy. The kitchen is well equipped. We had many nice walks in the neighborhood.

Super cute

We loved this place! We called it our doll house. It’s cozy for two and we enjoyed it. I do wish there was a little more privacy as the front door and most of the windows are not covered but other than that we had a great stay.

Location Location!!

Nicely appointed & updated apartment in a quiet Mission Hills desirable neighborhood. Loved the driving proximity to our destinations that included downtown, Old Town, the harbor, Balboa Park & Petco Field. The apartment was well equipped, a comfortable bed & good shower! Great communication with the owner! Thank you for making our San Diego visit welcoming & comfortable!!

Mission Hills Carriage House Apartment

My husband and I stayed five nights at Rodney and Larry's Mission Hills carriage house apartment, visiting friends in the area. The apartment is lovely - exactly like the photos. It is immaculately clean and in a great location in Mission Hills - wonderful neighborhood -,an easy walk to many local restaurants and cafe's. Both Rodney and Larry were professional and responsive. It was a pleasure to stay here.

Beautiful neighborhood!

Beautiful location, clean, bright and airy rooms. Close to Old Town San Diego and within minutes of Cornado Beach. A couple of downsides, only travel with someone you are very comfortable with, there are NO DOORS, including on the bathroom!! ( heads up - could be quite awkward!!)If you are looking to cuddle up and watch a movie this is not the spot. However, if you are looking for a clean, beautiful spot in an equally beautiful & quiet neighborhood to drop your bags and have adventures from, this is a great place! We enjoyed our stay.

Sweet Suite in Mission Hills

Lovely small apartment above garage on quiet street near canyon in Mission Hills. Wall of high windows facing north on street side. Stylish coastal modern decor, Kate Spade dinnerware, pretty towels matching bath tiles, comfy bed. Amazing backyard garden view from bathroom window, but no outdoor seating for apartment. Nice coffee table books on gardening and architecture. Owner very prompt helping with minor issue with TV. Pretty residential neighborhood with cafes, restaurants, a garden center, grocery stores and Mission Hills Library. Easy walk downhill past mansions to Old Town. Uber rides just minutes away.

This Cottage is adorable and affordable, but there were too many obstacles to overcome. First and foremost was the tall, steep stairs which had such shallow steps that there was no way a normal foot size could navigate it. We both had to grip the rail and turn sideways to go down. In addition the lack of a bathroom door AND a bedroom door was too much loss of privacy. We are over 80, and not terribly fit. Everything else was fine.

Design forward, cozy aptmt/walk to shops

The communication with the hosts was thorough and easy. They take great care in furnishing/supplying the apartment with quality/design. Bring your own bath soap. Lots of windows for fresh air - though it got into the 80s outside I didn’t need the AC. Fantastic walking neighborhood - natural food store, restaurants, brewery, espresso and ice cream, etc. The neighborhood is historic and homes are cared for. I had a wonderful stay.

Nicely appointed property in lovely neighborhood

The guesthouse in Mission Hills is very beautifully done and perfect for our stay in San Diego. It is close to a lot of attractions yet nestled in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. The property manager was amazing —very responsive and attended our questions. Definitely will stay here again.

The Carriage House Apartment sits in the residential neighborhood of Mission Hills - between Old Town and Hillcrest. The home is close enough to stay connected to the local scene (walk to parks, restaurants, shopping) but far enough away to enjoy quite relaxation and the ease of on-street parking - often right in front of the home. Mission Hills is located on hills just south of the San Diego River valley and north of downtown San Diego, overlooking Old Town, Downtown San Diego, and San Diego Bay. The area is primarily residential, with boutique shops and restaurants along Washington Blvd. and in other clusters. The oldest parts of the neighborhood consist mainly of houses from the 1908-1930 period, in Craftsman, Prairie School, Spanish Colonial Revival and other styles. Enjoy your visit!
