La maison, nichée au milieu des arbres et assis très près de la côte crée la vie privée tout en offrant une vue imprenable sur les chutes réversibles marée spéciales - un paysage en constante évolution pour en profiter. Un bon endroit pour rester toute la journée ou se reposer après aventures acadiennes.
Cette chambre 3, la maison ronde 2. an 5 de bain a vues de chaque pièce. En bas a une suite de maître avec lit queen et salle de bain complète. Cuisine complète ouvre sur une salle à manger et salon. La moitié de bain est en bas. A l'étage, les deux autres chambres - une avec un lit double et un lit simple, l'autre avec un futon et un lit simple. Cette chambre dispose également d'un grand bureau pour l'écriture ou d'autres projets. Egalement sur le deuxième étage est la cathédrale plafond atelier d'artiste, et salle de bain complète. Planchers de bois franc dans le grand studio en font une grande place pour danser, créer, lire, jouer de la musique ou écouter un grand assortiment de disques classiques, jazz et le rock vinyle.
Il est un excellent set-up pour une famille multigénérationnelle avec l'ancienne génération en bas et le plus jeune à l'étage ..
La grande terrasse au large de la bas rend pour manger en plein air et de socialiser tout en écoutant et en regardant la ruée et le paysage des chutes de marée en constante évolution. Beaucoup de mammifères marins et d'oiseaux (y compris des aigles, des balbuzards pêcheurs et les huards) observations attendent.
La promenade jusqu'à la rive a chemins entre une maturité, jardin paysager. Asseyez-vous dans une chaise Adirondack par le foyer et pratiquement être on the Falls.
Profitez du meilleur de Downeast Maine avec des voyages à Mount Desert et de l'Acadie, ou à la péninsule Schoodic d'Acadia. Hancock a beaucoup de bons restaurants pour apprécier. Ellsworth est à seulement 15 minutes pour le shopping.

We rented this house to see the Fall Foliage and explore Acadia National Park.This house is about 40 minutes away from the park, but the drive is very pretty! The house is spacious and comfortable.The views from every window are incredible. The back yard is beautiful. We wished there had been more another tv, but the record player was such fun! This place is great!

Treasure spot

This home was a delight for our family of six, including three teenagers. The views at sunrise and sunset were magnificent, and the record collection was perfect incredible. The location was close enough to Acadia but yet far enough away to feel like a retreat. We truly felt at home.

My family & I had a great stay! The house was more than what we expected. The view from the deck was gorgeous. We sat there every morning enjoying the scenery. The space inside was nice. We went to MDI & Schoodic peninsula and it was an easy drive to both. If we ever go to that part of Maine again, we won't stay tjere.

Tidal falls house

Beautiful location and view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Provided for all our needs and more. Loved the vinyl record collection. Beds were very comfortable. Great location in between Schoodic Peninsula and Bar Harbor. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Perfect family space to explore Acadia NP

Ideal location on water, plenty of space for our family. We explored all 3 sections of Acadia NP and felt the home was a great central spot. Appreciated the suggestions as we cooked our own seafood boil and the kitchen had everything we needed. Loved the records and added to the collection when we departed.

Good and not so good

The view was spectacular!!! The beds where comfortable! When we arrived it was like walking into a fish market. The people before us must of cooked a lot of fish. Heads up if you cook fish set out a bowl of vinegar to absorb the smell. There also was a musty smell I’m sure being in the humid and close to water area that’s difficult to control. The place could definitely use some TLC. Just bring candles to mask smell.

Great Location, Beautiful View

We took a sibling trip to Maine to see the beauty it has to offer. The views are fabulous from the back porch and we spent a lot of time in the evenings out there. Something to note the photo in the listing shows a lot of firewood but that is to heat the home so you will need to buy your own if you want to use the fire pit. There are so many spices , condiments, foil, plastic wrap, bug spray etc it might be a good idea to check in before hitting the grocery store. There were fresh flowers and a bottle of wine which was a very nice touch. We loved the record player and used it quite often. The house has its older charm but could use a little refreshening. Thank you for a nice week.

Great Place to Stay

We really enjoyed our stay in Hancock. The house is beautiful and has everything you need. The setup is perfect for a family; our kids took over the upstairs and my wife and I took the master bedroom on the first floor. Beautiful ocean views and we saw some seals in the harbor.

Relaxing Get Away

My family and I enjoyed watching the water, tidal falls, with the seals and all the water birds. It was so relaxing. I really liked the layout of the house. Two bedrooms with a full bathroom upstairs and then the master with full bathroom downstairs was just what we needed.

Wish we had longer

I am so lucky that we stumbled upon this house when looking at booking in Maine. Ideally I wanted something mid coast but I am so glad we stayed at Lydia's place. My boys took over the top floor and me and my husband enjoyed the views of the bottom floor and much time outside in the back yard. I loved watching the movement of the high tide and low tide and how it affected the tidal falls area. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook basic meals to a full lobster dinner. The beds were comfy and with the windows open there was a nice breeze. The upstairs got warm but with the fans provided in the rooms there was no problem. The AC in the tv room was appreciated. Lydia was easy to communicate with and helped us enjoy our stay. Thank you.

The silence was deafening.

Our first evening we saw seals, otters and ducks. A short drive to Mt Desert Island and Acadia National Park. But don't miss Schoodic Point (part of Acadia) which is only 30 -45 minutes away), truly the quiet part of the Park.

Great place!

Lydia’s house was so nice! Tucked away in a densely wooded area. Beautiful views of the bay from several windows on both floors. The Kitchen was spacious and had everything you could need. Bedrooms were large and beds comfortable. Great spot if going to Acadia and want to be a bit off the beaten path where so many tourists are. Lydia was very responsive to our few questions. We will definitely consider this place on next trip to Acadia! Thank you Lydia!

The good, the bad, the in between

There were definitely highs and lows to our family's stay. LOCATION : the location was great. We were close to grocery stores, shops, boat rides and tours, Bar harbor in, Acadia National Park and short drives to Bangor, Baxter State Park, Fort Knox and the Penobscot Bridge and Observatory. SPACE: We are a family of 6 and we had plenty of room. However, it would have been nice to have a cupboard space for our groceries that didn't go in the fridge. We used the counter. CLEANLINESS: this needed work. The cafe curtains are moldy, the drawers in the kitchen were grubby. There's a note about have washing dishes because the dishwasher doesn't work well (not good in covid). There were ant traps on the kitchen counter (we did see ants). And there was a mouse! (To which Lydia's response was " that's country life." She did apologize the day if check out) SECURITY: the internet was down. We spent until around 2 for the cable guy to finish his job. Lydia suggested that we just leave and "leave the door unlocked. I do when I'm there." Not acceptable for visitors with computers, meds, money, etc. Also, the front door does not lock from the outside. We had to shoulder it in, lock from the inside, go out the back deck and lock the back door to secure the house, then reverse when coming back. The seating by the fire pit was very rickety and needs replaced. Our son is 80 pounds and I thought that the glider was going to collapse under his weight. OTHER: The record collection was great! Lydia did give us a generous check out time.

Fantastic Location! Comfortable Home!

Perfect location to accommodate our sightseeing agenda! Easy access to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Quiet, gorgeous location with an amazing view of Tidal Falls. We enjoyed the views so much! Cooked a few meals in the fully equipped kitchen. Loved the wood burning stove and listening to some old vinyl! Perfect all around for us!

We really enjoy staying at this Tidal Falls home. This I was our second visit in 6 months.

The house is supplied with all you need except food. Lydia even had the driveway and steps sanded for us! Each room has a beautiful view. Watching the water flow by and the birds was so relaxing! This visit the grounds were covered in snow. Our grandson dug out the fire pit so we could roast marshmallows and watch the stars appear. We consider this one of our favorite places to stay when we come to Maine from Florida.

We will come back here!

This home is set up so well with just about everything you need! The kitchen has anything you need to prepare a meal or feast. The windows bring the outside to the inside! We never tired of watching the changing of tides and the activities of the ducks in the water. The library of books and record albums were so much fun to explore. And there is space! Lots of places in the house for a family or group of friends. We spent time going into Acadia and then looked forward to relaxing in the home. We will return! It was a wonderful adventure! And we live in beautiful St Petersburg, Florida!

I have lived in Maine for much of my adult life. I spent many summers as a child in this Downeast Region and love it. I am now a State Representative and work on Marine Resource issues in the Legislature. I live full-time in York, Maine and visit this house as much as possible.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

My parents built this house in 1987. After they died, I bought the home from my siblings. Our family loves this house for its privacy and year round capability, the area for all the great summer happenings nearby and the fantastic Maine seafood that tastes best eaten here. The ever-changing landscape of the reversing, tidal falls is always worth watching.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

One of the unique benefits of this house is its privacy and water view. It is built closer to the water than its neighbors because it was one of the first and then the zoning laws changed. The large back deck has lots of bench seating and is an ideal "extra room" in the summer months and a fine place to have a meal. The mature trees, and a natural landscape design help inspire a feeling of getting away from it all. The sculpture in the gardens pleases the eye.
Inside, the upstairs studio provides a great space for an escape on a rainy day. There is a fine piece of stained glass depicting an egret that gives the room extra character. The bedrooms all afford privacy - I like that the upstairs is like a complete family suite, nicely separated from the downstairs master.
