Whaler Resort Kaanapali # 159! Vue sur l'océan!

Veuillez noter que nous avons reçu aujourd’hui une notification du bureau de l’association Whaler Resort l’installation prévue de la rénovation de la piscine le 1 er septembre 2019. Le projet devrait durer 3 à 4 semaines. Ils ont donc prévu pour tous les clients du Whaler l’utilisation de la piscine de leur complexe voisin, le Ka’anapali Beach Hotel, pendant toute la durée du projet. Un rabais supplémentaire de 10% sera offert en plus de notre tarif hors saison déjà indiqué pour septembre.

Notre maison sur l’île de Maui est située directement sur la plage de Kaanapali au complexe The Whaler Resort, l’une des destinations les plus prestigieuses de Maui.

Le Whaler Resort poursuit son engagement envers l'excellence avec ses améliorations continues dans tout le complexe, y compris, mais sans s'y limiter, sa piscine, son spa, son bassin à poissons, son aménagement paysager, son port cachere, son centre de conditionnement physique extérieur de la propriété entière. Notre unité n ° 159 est située au rez-de-chaussée, ce qui permet un accès facile à la plage depuis notre véranda. Pas besoin de passer par les couloirs et par les portes des portes publiques. Vous pouvez également vous rendre directement à l’aire de pique-nique du barbecue: c’est comme avoir la plage et toutes les commodités dans votre propre cour. Descendez le long du chemin de la plage et vous êtes au village de Whaler en moins de 5 minutes.

Nous avons également apporté de nombreuses améliorations à notre condo. Assurez-vous donc de regarder toutes nos photos qui présentent le dernier remodelage achevé à l'été 2014 dans notre salle de bains principale et sa vanité. Notre équipe de gestion agréée sur l'île, MAUI BEACHFRONT RENTALS, dessert nos clients depuis 1995. Condo at the Whaler

Loved being back at the Whaler! The location is great! The unit was on the ground floor, which we like. This unit is in need of some repairs and definitely some upgrades! Drapes in bedroom were torn, furniture was very worn, kitchen was minimally stocked. One garbage bag, one very small and broken bar of soap in bathroom, things like that!

Perfect Location

A large sized apartment in the perfect location on the beach and next to restaurants and shops at the Whaler Village. Very comfortable with all kitchenware that we needed to cook each night for our family. The grass area right outside was great for the kids to play while we cooked and BBQs were a few steps away. The pool was not overly little kid friendly… no shallow end, but the beach is right out the door. Never had trouble parking. Overall a great stay!

We were a party of 4 adults - an elderly couple and my husband and myself. Loved the main level walkout to the lanai just steps from the beach and pool. The grounds are very well taken care of and beautiful! Liked that there are free laundry facilities for the units without their own laundry. Our unit was nice and spacious but had obviously had water damage in the last few years from the unit above and there is still water staining in the light fixtures, especially above the bath vanity. The water also damaged the baseboard at the end of the kitchen peninsula. Pull out sofa was uncomfortable so we slept on the sofa and an air mattress. The kitchen cabinet skins are peeling and the pots/pans were like camping. There is something growing on the kitchen lighting. We killed 4 cockroaches during our stay. This unit is 'good enough' but could be a beautiful unit with some cosmetic updating/repair. It appears the owner doesn't spend time at the property or just isn't interested in spending the money for needed repairs and updates. We got to tour the 157 unit and it's beautifully updated and we met another owner who showed us photos of his newly remodeled unit - incredible! After seeing those units we felt a little shortchanged - especially sleeping on the floor for a week. Again, if you're just there to sleep, have a morning cup of coffee and spend time on the beach, this unit is adequate.

Cannot recommend. Wasted money

I don’t know where to begin. This is the worst VRBO we have ever stayed in and our vacation was greatly affected by the condition of this condo. The Whaler had no record of us upon checkin around 6:30 pm and when I called Maui Beachfront after hours number, no one picked up. Fortunately the Whaler had us forward our confirmation emails to them and they gave us a key. Upon entering, the condo has very stained carpet and the pull out bed is gross with a giant stain on it and a mattress that is very uncomfortable with springs that poke your back. Our kids slept in it and had horrible nights sleep all 7 nights and were abnormally grumpy for the trip. The kitchen is not set up to do any cooking either. There are no potholders, hand soap, no normal sized spoons (only serving spoons), no counter top spray, and it has a tiny garbage can. We had one steak knife, 2 water glasses, 1 bbq flipper but no other bbq tools, and cheap grocery store brand pots and pans. I wanted to make brownies and all we had was a broiler pan. When I called about no hand soap or counter spray, I was told that they don’t supply these things because of various people’s sensitivities. However, they supply tide laundry pods which causes way more allergic symptoms. So confused by this. I also called about the stained mattress and they did drop off a new mattress cover. The condo also has partial snorkel equipment and no cooler, so plan on buying your own. Lastly, there are 3 closets but only one closet has a hanging rod in it. So weird. The entire condo needs to be updated and needs a new stove, it took 40 minutes for it to get to 400 degrees. The 2 positives are that we loved being on the ground floor and never heard annoying sounds from whalers village. I thought the primary suite bed was comfortable too, but my husband said it was too soft. Also, they do have a safe to lock your things. We have stayed at the Whaler 3 times now (that’s how much we like it), but I would highly recommend that if you are interested in the Whaler, you look elsewhere.

Completely wonderful

This was the perfect place for my husband & I, and two boys (ages 6 & 8) to spend a week in Ka'anapali. I would love to return. The location on the ground floor with young kids who just want to run in and out as they please was optimal (and for my husband & I coming and going to the beach with all our gear!). Also, the location of The Whaler in general is so perfect, right on the beachwalk next to so many restaurants and amazing Black Rock snorkeling/jumping. It was perfection. One comment for units management would be to work on a better shower enclosement. There is just a small glass wall that does not prevent water from spilling out very much, so the floor gets soaking wet and there's some drywall damage from it happening over time. Re: the prior review about roaches, yes there are bugs that try to come in and get any bit of food out in the kitchen area, but I think that may be the case in most tropical locations and not sure there is much you can do about it. We did not find any early morning beeping from Whaler's Village next door to be an issue (I maybe heard it once and it lasted all but 10 seconds). Overall - we aren't picky people over little things and we absolutely loved our stay for all of the pluses it offered! We would stay here again, 100%! Thank you.

Roaches in the Kitchen

We booked this property because I liked the refund policy... with COVID and everything you just never know. Big Mistake! We knew it wasn't the most updated property but we liked the location. The kitchen was FULL of roaches. Many many of them... I made breakfast on the first morning and they went crazy... crawling up the cabinets and all over the counters. Some were small and some were not. There was not any sanitizer under the sink... gross! They were even in the dishwasher, hiding under the blender... I waited until 9AM and called Maui Beachfront Rentals... no answer... again and still no answer.. I sent an email and was told towards the end of the day that Robin would come by. I could tell that someone had come by later in the day because they had dropped off some pillows (there was only one super flat pillow for the sofa bed)... but there were no pillow cases or even the extra blanket that I had requested... my son had one thin blanket the entire trip. The other big complaint was the shower head which needed to be replaced and was not. This was a shorter trip for us so we ate out and avoided using the kitchen rather than spend the entire time on the phone begging for help. Let me end this by saying that this is our 5th trip to Hawaii and we have stayed in a condo each time... we are not rattled easily by minor issues.. an uncomfortable bed or even ants... but ROACHES.... ?

Location is Great

This was the first time we have rented from an online website, so we were a bit nervous. We had a bit of a “hiccup” at the beginning., when we walked into the unit, it had NOT been cleaned!!! However, the management service was awesome! They had us go next door to Hula Grill (fabulous Mai Tai) and have dinner on them. They got an exceptional emergency cleaning service in…so in 2 hrs we had a great dinner and the unit was absolutely spotless!!!!! Unit is very large! Kitchen is well equipped. Bathroom had plenty of towels and even some large beach towels. It’s a ground floor unit, so no waiting for elevators….just walk out the door and you are literally on the beach!!! Whalers Village is next door to the property, which has great restaurants (make reservations!). There are really nice gas grills literally 100 ft away, so you can grill and watch the sunset. The ONLY negative is….the unit’s lanai faces Whalers Village food distribution point. So, each morning beginning 7:30ish you get the ding, ding, ding of the delivery trucks backing in and all of the noise associated with that. It wasn’t very peaceful to sit and have a cup of coffee on the lanai. A HUGE plus was parking was included in the minimal resort fee, which saved a bundle compared to the big resorts!!! Great 8 days!!!

Amazing!

Location Perfect! First floor, next to Whalers Village, beach, pool and boardwalk right there! It's also private and on sunny side for those needed quiet times to lay in sun, read a book and have a beverage! Kitchen was well stocked with pot/pans etc. We were here for Thanksgiving, made it easy to cook what we needed to. Extended family were in other units. Staff very helpful. Sister-in-law plans on reserving this unit on her next visit!

Great location

It was a great fun. Kaanapali resort next door, had great free entertainment great dinner experience. Beach was awesome, rite out front door of resort. Got picked up a few hundred feet away from resort to go snorkeling on a sail boat.

The unit was clean and perfectly situated in Kaanapali. It was a bit dated but we didn't spend much time in our condo and we enjoyed our stay. Being on the first floor was so beneficial for grilling and having cook outs with family. I would highly recommend the Whaler and will most assuredly stay there if we are blessed to return to Maui.

The condo was in a great place in Maui. There were shopping and several places to eat with in walking distance right on the beach. The living space was bigger than anticipated and the smaller kids got to go outside on a large grass area that added room to the whole set up. I would highly recommend this condo.

Nice but could use some improvements

This unit was very nice. We loved that we could walk out on to the lani and then on to the grass and a short walk to the beach, which was beautiful....loved the feel of the soft sand. The unit was large and roomy. The remodeled shower area was very nice, but I missed having a little ledge to sit on. The bathroom was well stocked with towels and we were a little surprised that there were some bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotion. We weren't expecting those. The kitchen was adequate with plenty of items necessary for cooking most anything you wanted (we used the BBQ every night, but did cook breakfast most mornings). A couple things could be improved though. It was a little weird that there was a microwave mounted above the range but there was no venting. There were new rings around the electric burners that did not fit properly so any pan you set on them was not level and made for an unsteady pan that tipped and moved around. The other issue we had a problem with was the safe. There are very specific instructions about this safe about how to avoid the need of a service call to the unit because of what I call a very poor design. The batteries will fall out and negate the code you put in, locking the safe with no way to open it. We have cruised many times and have never had this type of problem with a safe. It just seems to be an unfair way to collect a service fee. We had to call for a service to open the safe twice. I really think they should replace the safe with one that does not have this quirk. I do think that we were not charged for this service, but I haven't checked all charges yet to our credit card. There is also an issue with the slider doors...if they are not closed properly in a very precise way (both the living room and bedroom doors) then the air conditioner will not operate. We tried fussing with the doors trying to get them to close correctly, but still needed a service call to have someone come fix it. After that visit, the doors were not a problem for the AC. The King bed was very nice (and not too tall as mentioned in prior reviews). My sister said the Queen hide-a-bed was very nice. We loved that there were beach chairs and a boogie board in the closet. There was a lot of closet and drawer space to hold all our clothes. All in all, this was a nice unit, but could be nicer if some of the small issues were fixed.

In need of updating and cleanng

A number of issues arose for us in the apartment ,some of which were dealt with and some not. Ring on stove and waste disposal not working. Stove ring fixed. Not enough crockery and no suitable pans to cook with. Both sorted. Bathroom sink cracked and not cleaned thoroughly. ( photos available) Trash can lid not cleaned. Surround on bed still had sand in f I’m previousoccupant, carpets stained. Additionally the bed was ridiculously high and quite difficult to get into and out of.All rooms were in full view of the restaurant kitchen next door. Liked the Whaler Resort but would not recommend this apartment at all T

The Perfect Spot in Kaanapali

This was my first time staying at the Whaler and I was so impressed. The unit far exceeded my expectations. It was fully stocked with everything I needed. The place was immaculate, the bed was really comfortable, and the unit was so dark and quiet at night I slept better than I do in my own home! The location could not have been better. It is perfectly located right next to Whaler's Village. I loved going to Hula Grill, Leilani's, and MonkeyPod for dinner while watching the sunset. Even better, I loved relaxing on the lounge chairs on the patio for morning coffee and in the evening listening to the ocean. My family visiting for the day from Kihei didn't want to leave! I couldn't have asked for more. Can't wait to visit again. Many thanks!

Perfect Place

We found this condo to be perfect. with one exception, the bed. although it is a beautiful huge bed, it is very very high. I had to push the chair up to it to be able to climb on to it. Once in the bed it was marvelous!!! I would suggest the owner (please put a step stool in there). Had a few problems with the TV. But for the most part it is a beautiful condo and I would love love to stay there again. Many thanks for a wonderful condo. The location is perfect.

Perfect Location

The lower level allowed us to enjoy the grassy common area. The condo was well equipped and very comfortable. A short walk to the beach and happy hour. A very relaxing vacation.

Everything was great. Check-in process, cleanliness, comfort, amenities, location were excellent. Only thing is that hand soap and dishwashing scrub wasn't provided, and the kitchen light didn't work at times.

Came to Hawaii for two weeks with my husband and our son and we stayed at this unit. It was a great experience. An excellent start to our summer. The first thing you should know about this location on the island is there is a alot to do in this near area. My husband golfed a couple of times just up the street, and he said the course was amazing. I didn't mind having the outlet shopping mall next door - who doesn't like shopping on vacation? The condo suited us as nicely as the location. You can't beat being this close to beach, and the beach is spectacular. Basically no rocks, all soft sand, and gentle waves my boy could play in without me worrying about shore break and riptides. We also appreciated having so many entertainment options in the place. Even went to a Redbox to utilize the DVD player. It was very clean in the condo that suited all our needs. The whole resort is just gorgeous. It doesn't hurt the location is so picturesque. Anyway, we had a fantastic time. My son is already begging to go back. And he won't have to beg Mom to hard. Thanks!

Very Happy

This was the first time my husband and I used VRBO and it did not disappoint. The condo was perfect for us. Just sitting on the porch I could enjoy the ocean. Also the grills are close so it was easy to grill dinner and watch the sunset. Someone had left some beach chairs and snorkel equipment. The Whaler supplies beach/pool towels. The bed is very high off the ground but we didn't have a problem with that. Overall I feel like the pictures show the condo perfectly and we had a very good experience through the entire process.

Review of Whaler Apartment

The location of the property is perfect because it is beachfront, its right next to The Whalers Village and is easily accessible by bus to Lahaina. The property is perfect for people who have an infant child or for someone who has a mobility issue, as its located on the ground floor. It was also nice to be able to just walk out of the property, rather than going in and out of a lift. There is a partial ocean view from the verandah, which is also close to the BBQ area, overlooking the beach. The property is clean and spacious and has everything that you need. However, there are a few elements within the apartment that require attention. One of which is the faucet handle within the kitchen, which is broken and has come off from the hinge. The other is the hot water from the bathroom, which took forever to warm up and would run out quite quickly, which was rather annoying. Given the location and the overall view, I would still return to this apartment, if the concerns noted are attended to by the owner.
