Ponsonby Terrace is a classic London basement flat. Comprising of an open plan kitchen/breakfast room, comfortable living area, separate bathroom and bedroom. It has the addition of a secluded, pretty courtyard garden. Comfortably accommodates 2 guests ( and up to 3 if using the sofa bed ) Fun and simply furnished - its a great place to stay and explore London, with the Thames and Tate Britain just around the corner.

Patio doors open from the bedroom to the walled courtyard garden where you will find a wooden table and 4 chairs. In the summer months, the AGA cooker and oven is turner off as its make the apartment too warm. So there is an induction hob and a counter top single oven. The AGA is on in the autumn and winter months.

Stylish AND cozy -- great river access
This flat makes a refreshing contrast to antiseptic “corporate” options, with colorful and comfortable furnishings and decor, a kitchen with actually useful utensils (chosen by someone who cooks, it seems) and special touches of hospitality like extra towels, spices in the cabinet, and spare adaptors for plugging in electronics. Our landlord was communicative and friendly and eager to share info on local cafes and shops, including via a helpful Google map he's prepared. Everything was clean and tidy and in good shape. We had never used an Aga stove but easily learned it from the Aga cookbooks helpfully left nearby. The stove added a toasty warmth to the kitchen area during the late-winter weather of our stay. That weather kept us from using the back garden, but it would have been nice on warmer days. And we appreciated the unfussy check-out. As for the location, access to Thames bank walks and bridges was fast and easy -- perfect for running and exploring. The Victoria line tube stop is a quick stroll from the flat. The only drawback (minor) in this location is the sparseness of nearby retail: some cafes and takeaways but the closest groceries are all pretty small. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Stay for Honeymoon
We had an amazing stay here for our honeymoon. First time visiting London and this location is very convenient to get to from the airport via tube. Very close to the tube station and a bus station so getting around was super easy. Also nice that it's on a less busy street with the Tate Gallery right around the corner and some great food and drink nearby! You can easily walk from this location to many big ticket attractions like Westminster Abbey, the House of Parliament, and Buckingham Palace. The place itself was perfect for us especially with having a washer and drier. We didn't much use the kitchen but plenty of supplies to make your own meals. TV with roku was convenient as well as wifi. We did note that the wifi does not make it through the walls very well meaning the living room is the only room with good signal but this wasn't of much importance to us. Also has a nice collection of travel guide books and John had great recommendations himself. We really loved Morpeth Arms around the corner!

Perfection in all of the ways we wanted
This unique, well-furnished garden flat offered a welcoming ambiance, the amenities, the décor, the location, the Ponsonby neighborhood, the pub, the parks, the openness, the quiet and the transportation choices that we only dreamed of finding. The result: a five-week stay that exceeded our expectations with the Tate Britain Art Museum almost next door, immediate access to two Thames River piers, the Pimlico tube station on the Victoria Line, the Vauxhall train station a few minutes’ walk over the bridge, the 88 Bus Route stop on our corner opening to Central London, and the Jubilee walkway, up river and down. With a guide book in hand, Oyster cards in pocket, our wonderful host John’s suggestions, and the wealth of opportunities the city offers before us, we were off. “Keeping house” in the flat like “playing” house. Easy and rewarding. The Aga stove an interesting challenge and an asset. Wonderful dry heat, and it produced a wonderful roast chicken, amongst other delectables. We commend the bath and its shower challenge. A little practice and we mastered art of keeping shower water in tub! Washer and dryer appreciated. Dryer slow so plan accordingly. Rack in front of Aga speeds the process along. Lots of good lighting for reading. Natural light is also welcoming. The garden area is very private; fills with sunshine and provides a wind break. Gives the bedroom a particularly pleasant feeling. The bed and linens are excellent. We were “at home.” Five stars

Family of 3 visit London!
What a great place to stay. Very close to Pimlico train station. Great little neighbour hood for a walk as well. The host John is excellent to get back to you if you have questions. Our last day when we were leaving I couldnt find my oyster card to get on subway. John to the rescue he had extra one loaded for us and met us at train station. Do not hesitate to stay here.

The flat is in a great location - close to the Tube and attractions. John is a wonderful host who is very helpful/responsive. The place has everything you need for your stay which is great when you are traveling from abroad. Although it is a basement apartment, it gets plenty of light and has a lovely outside space.

I’ve stayed in a lot of apartments in London, as I travel there often for work. John’s is one of the best: exactly like the photos, easy check-in, excellent communication. John also had some great recommendations for neighborhood cafes and restaurants. I would definitely stay there again. The Aga is fantastic, especially on February evenings.

I have been scammed numerous times and thought this property was too good to be true, and I was so wrong! It was even better than the ad! John was amazing; he texted/called me numerous times and made the entire process so easy. I really couldn't find anything to complain about at all. My daughter lives in London and I will stay at this property every time I go to visit. The only thing it needed was a puppy to cuddle with in front of the AGA!

Lovely stay in Pimlico
The property is well situated steps from The Tate Britain, Vauxhall Bridge and a nice stroll along the south bank westward towards the newly developed Battersea Power plant. Slightly out of the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk or hop on the tube or even the UBER Boat!The owner was very communicative and the property well maintained. Would be wonderful in the summer as there is a little patio out back. Thanks for providing us a home away from home.

Lovely flat in a lovely neighborhood
Communication was excellent and my stay was a joy. It was just me for a week at the apartment and I had a lovely time resting in this comfortable, cosy (but not cramped!) flat after a lot of travel. When I was ready to see the sights, I found the busses were close and well connected. The waterfront is a block away and a great stroll. I would certainly stay again!

Great stay!
I highly enjoyed my two week stay in this clean, cheerful, well supplied flat. The location is perfect for exploring central London and the flat owner, John, couldn't be more helpful. The bathroom does not have a shower which might present a challenge for those with hip or knee problems. Also, the sloped bathroom ceiling could be a problem if you are tall (I'm 5'3" and didn't have a lot of head room). But these are minor reservations given all the many pluses the flat offers. I would definitely stay again!

Great location, lovely flat
The flat is in a great location and it has all the kitchen amenities you need. There are grocery stores nearby so you can purchase breakfast items. Pimlico Fresh, about a 15 minute walk, has amazing breakfasts. Over the Vauxhall Bridge, there is a market of food stalls for an inexpensive dinner. The bedroom is very nice and it extends to an outside sitting area. The washer and dryer were a big help but the dryer takes a very long time, so just be prepared. John, the host is very nice and good at answering questions.

Charming flat in ideal location!
This flat is an absolute gem. It is a comfortable, cozy space in the heart of a quiet neighborhood. It is just a few minutes walk to the Pimlico tube station. There are great dining, pub, and grocer options in very walkable distances. The little patio outside was great for relaxing after a day of walking all over London. John, the host, was a wealth of information and supremely helpful. My only regret is that we could not stay longer - I do hope to be back!

Fabulous spacious flat in superb location
This is our second stay in this delightful London flat with outdoor garden and patio space a real added bonus. The flat is very warm and cosy in the winter, when we stayed - and has such a friendly atmosphere with its kitchen Aga and bright, cheery kitchen table and very spacious sitting room for lounging and relaxing. The bedroom is large and the bed very comfortable - and we did not feel at all cramped in this flat, even with our 2 adult kids sleeping in the sitting room on the sofabed. Great location - short walk to Pimlico tube station - and all of London's attractions and sites. Shops, coffee shops and other amenities are closeby. Owner friendly, helpful and communicative Highly recommend this gem of a flat!

Our family of four (parents and two teens) had a wonderful, week-long stay in this centrally-located and cozy apartment. We were able to easily catch the bus or tube to visit sights around the city. Communicating with John was great, before, during and after our stay. He was very helpful with transit and food recommendations. He made us feel very welcomed with wine, snacks and other drinks. The apartment is very clean and although it's in the basement of the home, there is natural light from windows at both front and back. The Aga range kept the apartment nice and warm. There was plenty of seating for eating and relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The only thing that took a little getting used to was bathing, and only because our family is used to showering. I would highly recommend this apartment. I hope we'll be back!

Had a wonderful time staying here in London. Everything was as described. The flat has plenty of space for 2, 3 or even 4 people. The lovely bedroom looks out onto a small courtyard garden the open-plan living area is warm and inviting - heated by a traditional AGA cooker. I was not able to have a full stand-up shower but was able to wash my hair while having a bath with the wall attached showerhead - it was exactly as John, the very helpful and communicative owner, had explained to me when I made the booking . The kitchen and flat in general, is equipped with everything you might need. I did not get a chance to meet the owner, - hopefully next time!, as I’d love to come and stay again...but I did meet his friend who runs the Flower Shop at the end of the street who was most informative about the local area and where to explore, which is particularly easy as there are bus routes in every possible direction from the end of the street and Pimlico Tube station is just a few minutes walk away. Really felt I was staying right in the heart of London !

Very comfortable flat in the heart of London
I stayed here with my family (me, my wife and two small girls) and we were quite comfortable. This is a very spacious flat within walking distance or a short tube ride to London's well-known sites. There is a good sandwich shop down the street from the flat that is handy for picnic items. The TV has numerous cable channels to chose from - great after a long day of sightseeing. London is a very busy place so the surrounding area can be a bit noisy during the week but it's relatively quiet on weekends. That said, since the flat is loacted in the basement, noise tends to get downed out. The garden was a nice touch and we had breakfast out there most mornings. Finally, the owner is great - lots of towels and other items at the ready, charming, informative, helpful - a great guy.

Great comfort and value for money in Westminster
My wife, toddler son, and I stayed for about six days at this flat. We were quite happy with the quality of the apartment and very impressed with its Swedish made oven (the AGA Cooker), something I had no idea existed before we arrived at John's apartment. The closest tourist attraction is the "Tate Bri-tayn" as my wife called. But we never got there as we had access to the "88" bus, an almost magic carpet in terms of getting around the city. John the owner left good advice about this and tips for using his flat as a base for touring London. If we were to venture back to London again soon, I would most definitely consider a return to this apartment. For a young family like ours, with needs for en suite cooking and a little space, it would be hard to find anything else that comes close.
