Merry Fisher Marlin S2: Anglers dreams come true with this new, offshore-capable and high-sided SUV Pilothouse. The boat is approx. 7 meters long and 2.54 wide. This high-quality fishing boat will set new standards in the CE category C8 in Borhaug. With a 150 hp Yamaha outboard engine, it is perfectly adapted to modern sea fishing and really gets going. The boat has a cabin with steering position, outside steering position, a chart plotter echo sounder, rod holders, filleting table on land, etc. The large open space allows 4-5 anglers to fish together, as the asymmetrical installation of the cabin also makes it possible for one angler to fish in the front of the boat. At 200 liters, the tank holds enough fuel for extended trips, which should last for some time depending on how you drive. The boat has its own mooring directly in the harbor at the new filleting house.

Our vacation home 'Lista Maritim 6' is located in the guest harbor of Borhaug on the fish-rich Listafjorden, between the surf and the well-kept harbor. Admire the impressive sunsets and the mirror-smooth sea, or the famous Borhaug winter storms and the roaring surf. There's always something going on here, at home by the stove or fishing in the fish-rich sea. On one of Borhaug's most popular plots, the new house came into rental through us in 2021. The balcony overlooking the harbor, a great kitchen, the tasteful furnishings, 2 bathrooms with walk-in shower and much more make this house a top property in this price range. The 50-meter proximity to the coast and the view of the adjacent guest harbour with boat mooring in the background promise a brilliant living experience around the clock. The large panoramic windows with balcony of the living area face south, and with the large, open living area with kitchen, fridge-freezer, fast WiFi and Smart TV, 5 bedrooms with a total of 8 beds, 2 bathrooms with shower and toilet, the vacation home is particularly suitable for larger families and nice groups. Directly behind the house is the guest harbor with boat mooring and the new filleting house for our guests. Next to the house, but completely separate, is an identical property Lista Maritim 5, which is also rented out by us. Over the next few years, 3 more vacation homes will gradually be built in the neighborhood. Not far away you will find a very well-stocked supermarket with groceries and fresh baked goods, fishing equipment and almost everything you need for everyday life. We believe that here in Borhaug you are fishing in probably the best waters in the south, and the fabulous facilities of the property are certainly second to none. We ourselves spend our vacations in Borhaug several times and in every season and fish with great success on the offshore coast and on the plateaus (Listaplateau, soccer field, Jölle, Rauna, see our pictures). Recommended journey - ferries:
From Hirtshals (DK) to Kristiansand or Stavanger (N). We are happy to help you choose the cheapest ferries ( or ) and book them reliably on request. The journey time to the properties in the Lista region is approx. 1 hour 45 minutes. The long-distance buses travel directly to Lyngdal from Kristiansand or Stavanger. There is another bus connection from Lyngdal to Borhaug near your vacation property (the driver will stop on request).
Directions:
After leaving the ferry/customs, follow the signs to Stavanger/Flekkefjord (E 39).
There are automatic toll booths on the route. Please log on to and register your vehicle there. If you wish to drive through the Autopass lanes without registering, you will later receive a small invoice for the fees incurred. Leave the "E39" at the Lyngdal exit and then take the R43 towards Farsund. Follow the RV 43 from Farsund in the direction of Vestbygd / Vanse / Borhaug. From the through road "Postveien", turn left in Borhaug in the direction of "Borshavn". There you drive on the Strandveien, the access road to the house goes off to the left of the Strandveien in front of the pier

For the best fishing spots in the offshore waters (Plateau 'Jölle' in Listafjorden, known as the soccer pitch, and Plateau 'Rauna' near the shipwrecks between Farsund and Borhaug) you will receive a sketch from us after booking. Excellent cod, pollack, coalfish and ling, lump as well as smaller halibut of 10-20 kg and lots of mackerel are regularly brought in from the offshore banks and plateaus. Even large halibut in the 80-kilo class have been caught.
The fishing spots are littered with wrecks that sank before the lighthouse was built at the turn of the century. An insider tip is a wreck near Lista Fyr at a depth of 67 meters, where handsome ling, sometimes also large cod and good pollack cavort. At and around the 'Pollackberg' in the Listafjorden at a depth of 70 meters with its occurrence, strong sea fish, especially pollack, are regularly hooked, as our pictures prove. Ling, pollack and good cod can also be found directly south of the lighthouse, from 45 to 80 meters water depth, at the break-off noses.
But: Keep your boats away from the shore of the lighthouse. There are huge rocks under the surface of the water in front of the shore, and a wave or strong swell would smash your boat on the underwater obstacles.
The Rauna Plateau further to the east, with its sandy trenches and elevations at a depth of 117 m, is also known for its exceptional and very large cod, coalfish and lingfish. The trenches around the plateau are very deep and have yielded huge lingcod and beautiful halibut.
The beaches and piers near Borhaugs offer good opportunities for surf fishing for sea trout, turbot and other flatfish species, especially in spring and early summer. Good specimens are regularly caught on the shallow beaches near the trotting track, Osthasselstrand, Nordhasselstrand and Bausje.
In the outer harbor of Borhaug, from the pier next to the harbor entrance to the sea, there are always plenty of flounder and plaice caught from the shore. This is a good alternative when the north-westerly wind is blowing and you can't go out.
It should be particularly emphasized that the owners in this area take exemplary care of their guests. don't worry, even on the large boats you will receive detailed instruction and driving practice until you are really confident in handling the watercraft.
Please bear in mind that you are fishing here on the open sea, in one of the best fishing areas in southern Norway with a great variety of species and amazing fish sizes. Your trips out to sea should always be well planned and considered. Check the online weather app several times a day for wind and wave height and don't risk your life for a fish. Your children will be happy when you return home safe and sound.











Fishing in the Eidsfjord near Varnes
The fishing area is located directly in front of the Eidsfjord with its two small skerries in the middle of the fjord, with very good spots for pollack, cod and coalfish. The sandy bottom promises good catches of cod, ling and flatfish. Fishing in the fjord is possible every day. We have often fished in the Eidsfjorden, including at the fjord entrances to the green cliffs with their steep, step-like drop-offs and great depths, in the Stolsfjorden opposite or in the direction of Cape Varnes with its famous pollack spots. There, at Cape Varnes, please fish at a safe distance from the steep banks. The pollack are abundant there among the underwater plants at shallow depths. Do not enter the small bays and harbors, beware of shallows.
In Eidsfjorden itself there are always cod, coalfish, pollack, ling, mackerel in summer, and occasionally salmon and sea trout when trolling. Flounder and plaice like to be found on sandy bottoms. This alternative is ideal in north-westerly winds when you can't go out. In easterly winds, trips are almost always possible. Please bear in mind that you are fishing here in the fjord just before the open sea, probably the best fishing area in southern Norway with a great variety of species and amazing fish sizes. Therefore, your trips should be well planned and considered.

Hobby anglers get their money's worth at Eisdfjorden. Lots of pollack, coalfish and cod in impressive sizes, plenty of mackerel and other sea fish are on the fishing plan. Fancy some crabs? The manager knows where you can catch them by hand. The Eidsfjorden is known for its good water quality and abundance of fish. Follow the advice of the experienced owners and locals and never go out to sea in unsafe weather.
GPS coordinates for the best fishing spots for cod, pollack, ling, lump, coalfish, etc. are provided when you book. On board, you will receive a detailed briefing and driving school until you are really familiar with the boat.

In Borhaug there is a Joker supermarket with a solid selection of almost everything you need to live. The local baker delivers fresh pastries there every morning, and why not buy some fresh Norwegian baked goods for breakfast?
It's best to do your shopping locally. Where? In Vanse, of course. The Coop, Rema 1000 and the chic KIWI compete there with great offers and local goods and groceries.
Farsund: (15 minutes from Borhaug by car) is quickly accessible by car, bike or bus, a cozy town where you can go for a walk, eat ice cream or store in one of the many stores.
Vanse: Several stores with a wide selection, and here you will find 'Trunken', an American store that you must visit!

Try the restaurants in Farsund, or the small Asian vending carts with Thai food in Vanse. You'll have to find out for yourself whether the new fish restaurant at the harbor in Farsund has the best fish and chips in the country. We love them. Lista has great, long hiking areas and It's also wonderful for cycling. A visit to Lista Lighthouse is a must, and It's a nice walk from there towards Varnes, in the old, original Norway. Finally, what can we say about the beautiful Lista region?
It is fascinating to see how the sea changes with the wind, sun and weather and how the play of light transforms the landscape. The Norwegians call it the miniature version of Norway, because all the country's typical cultural and natural elements come together here. Many believe that the Lista region will soon overtake the Lofoten Islands. This is because Norwegians love extreme challenges when it comes to hiking and sporting activities and, in winter, extreme weather with snow and violent storms that are a real spectacle of nature. This is what the Lista region has to offer.
Riding opportunities, an alpaca farm, soccer and volleyball pitches, probably the best outdoor skating track, a large go-kart track on the Lista Fly Plass, a fitness studio with solarium - Borhaug offers its guests all of this to pass the time. A visit to the Lista lighthouse and the rustic stone fields is an absolute must.
In windy or bad fishing weather, head to the coast at Jölle and Snekkestö. If you walk along the shores after a storm, you will find many ancient and maritime objects that the sea has washed up from great depths. Develop a passion for collecting and turn your finds into great eye-catchers for your home. Visit the hidden mountain lakes in the hinterland and spend a lovely day swimming there in summer. Even in Norway, the water can be up to 20 degrees in shallow areas.
Experienced hikers will want to conquer the existing and well-signposted hiking trails (over 200 km in total).

Included and not included in the boat rental price: Insurance for occupants and accident cover, personal liability insurance, excess cover, consumables, fuel and lubricants.
Boat insurance - hull:
Hull insurance is usually included for our boats. The excess in the event of damage is 1000 euros. The amount of the excess may vary. This must be requested from the respective boat owner when taking over the boat and documented on the checklist. Personal items are not insured. The hull insurance is not liable for accidental damage suffered by persons traveling on the rental property. The renter is liable for damage to and loss of the boat if the damage is not covered by the insurance. Damage also includes consequential damage. The lessor/owner may retain the deposit paid until the damage has been repaired. The excess per case of damage is to be borne by the renter and may differ from the deposit. If the boat is returned free of defects, the deposit will be refunded immediately. Any damage not covered by the deposit or insurance must be replaced by the hirer immediately before departure. The hirer undertakes to notify the lessor/owner immediately of any damage, collisions, other unusual incidents or complaints.
