Family Vacation

This property allowed our party of seven plenty of room to spread out, table space for our group to eat together. The kitchen has been nicely updated and the Jekyll room is so comfortable. The kitchen has almost anything you need to prepare meals/cook. The neighborhood is quite and lovely. The property does need a deep cleaning/better attention to detail by housekeeping staff. Overall, however, it was a wonderful property and we hope to stay here again.

Almost perfect

Great except for cleanliness of the kitchen. Dishes were dirty - many with food dried on them. Other than that, AMAZING!

We had a great time

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were pleasantly surprised at this home. It is well situated near the middle of the island and was convenient for our family. It has had some updates and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the family room. The only thing I would mention is the mattress could be a better quality, they were pretty firm and thin. I know vacation homes may not prioritize them but it is something that is important to us, I only say this as a suggestion and want the owners to know that we really enjoyed our stay.

Great and roomy Hydeaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Having been to Jekyll numerous times over the years both renting and camping, we were excited to be back with extended family in tow. With a handful of little ones along we were very interested in something close enough to walk to the beach as well as some sense of privacy. Hydeaway completely fit the bill. Websites are all over the place it seems but Jekyll Realty did a great job of both presenting their properties as well as making the rental smooth and easy. From initiating the rental until we checked out the folks at JR were extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. The house was clean and well apportioned and our large family fit well and never felt crowded. We highly recommend both JR as well as Hydeaway and are looking forward to a return visit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Owning a rental for ATV riders ourselves, we take pride in the reviews we receive about the cleanliness of our rental. I can not leave a positive review about this unit being clean when it clearly wasn’t. The floors were not swept well and the kitchen needed some attention upon our arrival. The house needs a good cleaning, under couches, etc.

Spacious

The property worked great for us. We had a bridal party getting ready for the big event and had ample room for all. The only cons were the linens and all normal staples are not included so you have to bring everything you will need. Overall great stay.

Nice house but wasn't cleaned

But the floor was covered in sand and there were belongings from whoever stayed before us in the house. I don't think it was actually cleaned before we arrived.

The Absolute Best Vacation Home

This house has a lot of great reviews online, and you can believe every single one of them. The beautiful, cozy, very well kept and nicely decorated home delivered everything we were looking for and more for our family's summer vacation. Located on a cul de sac just a few minutes' walk from the beach, the house is absolutely lovely. There were eight of us, including three couples, and we had plenty of room to spread out so we weren't stepping on each other. The house has four bedrooms and three baths, a very well kept kitchen, two sitting rooms and a very roomy and spacious sunroom. It has televisions in one sitting room, the sunroom, and two of the bedrooms. Beautiful old oak trees stand tall in the front yard and are adorned with Spanish moss. The street was quiet, well suited for relaxed walking and bicycle riding, with friendly and helpful neighbors to boot. We can’t say enough about this place, or Jekyll Realty, which manages the property. We weren’t an hour away when I realized I had left two very important items at the house. Jekyll Realty immediately went to the property, found the items, and promised their safe return. Stay at HydeAway. You will not regret it.

Perfect for a Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hydeaway was perfect! We loved every aspect of house, grounds, and location. The owners have beautifully furnished their home and made it a pleasure to be there. Artwork, including their own photography, gives it a lovely feel. Equipment and appliances are up to date and everything we could possibly need was available for meal prep and cooking. Ample storage space is available for guests to use in the kitchen and bedrooms. Even the knives were sharp! The beach is a short walk from the house. We were amazed how the wind could be fierce on the beach, while a few blocks away all seemed calm. The beautiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss that line the street add to the atmosphere of a restful retreat. We loved hanging out together on the patio and in the Jekyll room.Thank you! thank you! to Jekyll Island Realty for switching us to Hydeaway when our original rental was suddenly unavailable right before we arrived. They made the switch seamless, and provided linens and towels for us, as our original rental would have. Always friendly and helpful, we would definitely work with them again if we return to JI, and would love to be in Hydeaway again.
