À propos de cet hébergement

«Huggins» est un cottage de mineurs du 17ème siècle avec de belles vues dans une zone de beauté naturelle exceptionnelle. Adjacent à notre propre chalet, il est complètement privé avec son propre lecteur, son parking et son jardin avec une vue imprenable sur les Malvern.

Juste à travers la porte d'entrée, il y a une petite zone pour les bottes et les manteaux, et à droite est une salle de petit-déjeuner. La porte à gauche vous emmène dans le confort. Complet avec des poutres basses, des chaises confortables, une télévision et un poêle à bois pour les soirées plus fraîches.
La cuisine est petite et avec plus de poutres basses mais équipée de tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour une échappée indépendante.
L'escalier mène directement à un petit palier. A droite se trouve une grande salle de bain et à gauche la chambre à double ouverture pour une vue ininterprétée.
Le chalet est décoré avec sympathie dans des couleurs neutres et avec un style pour compléter la région. Nous avons un lièvre qui vit dans les bois à droite et il peut parfois être vu dans le champ à l'avant ainsi que des lapins, des hiboux, des pics et des cerfs (jachère, chevreuil et muntjac). Vous aurez peut-être la chance de voir des blaireaux dans le jardin la nuit.
À l'extérieur, un coin salon surélevé vous permet de profiter au mieux de la vue. Il y a aussi un cabanon que vous pouvez utiliser pour les vélos si vous le souhaitez (veuillez demander la clé).
Ce magnifique chalet est une vraie vie rurale, avec les commodités de la magnifique vieille ville de Ludlow à 6 km et de Tenbury Wells à 6 km.

Un paradis pour les marcheurs et directement sur des kilomètres de sentiers, vous n'avez pas besoin d'aller loin pour explorer et vous perdre dans la nature. Si vous appréciez les sorties à l'extérieur, la vallée d'Elan dure un peu plus d'une heure, la vallée de Cardingmill est à 30 minutes et nous sommes bien couverts par le National Trust et English Heritage. Pour les plus aventureux, vous pourriez vous essayer à voler des oiseaux de proie avec Chris Neal à 5 minutes ou à marcher avec des loups avec des loups.

Fatastisch verblijf in Huggins Cottage

We kregen bij aankomst een warm welkom van Matthew en Laura. De cottage in echt Engelse stijl, een tuin met veel privacy, met zo nu en dan bezoek van een eekhoorn en een konijn en met een prachtig uitzicht op het heuvelachtige landschap. Prima locatie om de omliggende sfeervolle dorpen en steden te bezoeken. Wij hadden hier een fantastisch verblijf!

Pretty little cottage, nicely decorated and well set out. Very friendly but not intrusive owners live next door. Very tall people might struggle with some of the ceiling heights.

Warm welcome, excellent cottage, beautiful setting

Huggins Cottage is one of the loveliest places we've stayed, and by far the best cared for. We were made to feel welcome every step of the way, from booking to leaving. Very thoughtfully equipped kitchen, and house generally, with very comfortable beds. Bookshelves included a wealth of information about the area. Matthew and Laura, as well as being welcoming, were informative and helpful about what to see locally. It is a stunning area, many beautiful walks. For instance, up to Lee Hill is a great day's walk from the cottage, or down to the wonderful pub at Bennetts End is a nice evening stroll. (Thanks for including a torch, it was certainly needed on those dark lanes!) Amazing views from the upper rooms and the garden towards the Malverns across the valley.

A lovely small cottage

A very nice small cottage, spotlessly clean. Lovely quiet location, with a great view, and convenient for Ludlow and Clee Hill. Good pub food only 10 mins walk. Very warm and friendly welcome from the hosts - thanks very much for the eggs!

The property is small, but maintained and presented beautifully. The owners are extremely welcoming, and knowledgeable about the area. It was lovely to see wildlife on the lawn so close to the cottage.

Very happy for the six weeks as we were here a long time would of preferred a comfortable sofa to sit on , as found the little chairs a bit uncomfortable and not really high enough at the back for your head, apart from that was perfect .

A Little Gem

Set high in the Shropshire Hills Huggins Cottage enjoys spectacular views from its bedroom and all around it. Matthew and Laura are excellent hosts who obviously love where they live and want to share it with their guests. They provide heaps of information about local attractions and eateries and their enthusiasm is infectious. The cottage is small but cosy, skilfully renovated to a very high standard, tastefully decorated and well-equipped. The bathroom is especially impressive. We would return there in a heartbeat.

A stunning little property in a stunning landscape, beautiful conversion from a small historic cottage. Utter peace and quiet. Nice pub a short walk away, other walks from the doorstep. Clean, tidy, fantastic shower! Not much more to say really....except would go again like a shot.

Wonderful Huggins Cottage

A warm welcome greeted us on arrival from Matthew and Laura. A lovely touch with the personalised welcome in the kitchen along with the goodies that were left for us. The cottage is finished to a high standard with a lovely garden and views. Great selection of information packs for walks, towns and castles to visit etc. Spoilt for choice in the beautiful Shropshire countryside. A wonderful cottage to stay in, highly recommend. Outstanding, Amazing, Beautiful!

We stayed here for a week at the end of August to soften the blow of going back to work after six weeks off… my goodness, it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, Matthew and Laura made us feel so welcome. It was lovely to be greeted and then to be left to explore the cottage and garden, but it was also great to know that our hosts were there if we needed them. The cottage has so much character and was absolutely immaculate. It had everything we needed to make the time we spent there easy and enjoyable. The goodies that were left for us, were of a high quality- the best we’ve ever had. The Prosecco was very much enjoyed and the eggs, laid by the resident chickens, were fabulous! The walk in shower was amazing after a long day out walking and it was wonderful to warm our toes in front of the log burner. Where do we start with the surrounding area… the views from the bedroom window and garden are absolutely stunning! We could have sat in the garden all day just looking out at the rolling countryside… it really is an AONB! We loved being able to walk straight from the cottage and were always out for hours. Clee Hill is definitely worth walking, the views are panoramic and spectacular. On the evenings when we fancied a short walk with a pub stop, we headed for the Bennett’s End Inn. It has a quiet beer garden with lovely views. We also walked through the fields to Clee Hill Fish and Chip Shop and found the food to be delicious! Nearby Ludlow is a gorgeous town and we visited twice. There are lots of bars and restaurants and we enjoyed a meal in the Charlton Arms overlooking the river one night. Ludlow Is steeped in history; a visit to the castle is a must, if like us, you love British history. We would also recommend a visit to Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and Stokesay Castle (our favourite). We found there was so much to see and do here and to be able to come back to spend the evening in such a gorgeous cottage, was splendid. As night fell, we saw various wildlife, including rabbits and owls. By day we enjoyed watching kites and buzzards flying overhead… we always enjoyed a visit from the chickens too! It’s a nature lover’s paradise and we can’t wait to return. Thank you so much Matthew and Laura!

Great cottage to visit south Shropshire. Everything was as described. We were welcomed by the owners, who lived next door. Plenty of information was available about the area in the cottage. Lots of National Trust and English Heritage properties in the area to visit.

Vous êtes reçu par Matthew and Laura

Spring Cottages is our home and we love it here.
Matthew now works from home and Laura is retired so are usually around if you have any questions or want ideas for days out. We keep chickens who are prone to wandering and have a very friendly cream cat called Luna - please do not let her in however much she asks! We also keep bees and in the future would like pigs in the woods.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We fell in love with this area after coming here on holiday for many years and eventually turned the gazing in Estate Agents windows into reality. We have never looked back. It is easy to love it here, the pace of life is relaxed, the people are genuinely friendly and helpful and the scenary is devine.

You are surrounded by the most beautiful countryside and yet not cut off.
The local beer and cider is amazing - visit one of the breweries if you can.
Ludlow is famous for the 'food mile revolution'. It has regular farmers markets and the town is crammed full of independent traders. It is a foodies paradise
The birds and wildlife are amazing, we have hares in the field and badgers in the garden, I am afraid their gardening skills leave a lot to be desired!
