Weekend stay

I would have loved to give this property 5 stars. It’s a charming house in a great area. However there were several downsides. The beds are incredibly squeaky — which I guess could add to the old house charm but we found it to be a bit much. The pool is nice and well kept, but as others have said there is a great deal of road noise. The backyard also had an unpleasant odor. My biggest disappointment ended up being with the homeowner. A piece of the dishwasher was detached upon our arrival which we informed her of but ended up being blamed for.

Great Home Base

This house worked great for us. It was close to family in the Apex area. The kitchen was well equipped, the house was clean, and the property was in good shape. It's an old house but that just made it that much more interesting for us. The only challenge we had was we wish there more bath towels.

Cute, peaceful house outside of all of the hustle and bustle but still close enough to drive into town for anything you need. Loved the character of the old house. Everything was very clean. Appreciated the owner cleaning the pool every morning.

Great visit with friends!

Booked this lovely historic home for friends when they visited for book club weekend. The property accommodated everyone comfortably and the location was a short drive to my home. We all enjoyed an afternoon in the pool. Perfect time of day to go in since it was partially shaded. Check in was smooth and Judith had it ready a little early so I could sneak over some goodies for my gals. A great time was had by all!

Lovely place

This place was a dream to stay in. With the outdoor pool and the beautiful house, I felt like I was somewhere else lol. Definitely recommend staying here and will probably be back.

Charming but not secluded

The pluses to this house: The pool is in good shape and well-cared for. Close to Crosswinds boat ramp for boating, kayaking, SUP. Bathroom upstairs is bright and charming. Judith, the host, is amazing and on top of things. The house in its entirety is very historic. Steep stairs, some loose floor boards, limited room and storage space in kitchen. Those things can be challenging with small children. The highway is literally 100 ft from the pool so road noise is plentiful. Bring a Bluetooth speaker to drown that out. We had fun and enjoyed Jordan and Falls Lake during our visit.

Beautiful stay at Jordan Lake

We loved our stay here. Judith was incredibly responsive, the attention to detail was impressive, and the level of order and cleanliness were second to none. The home has everything a family or small group would need for their time, and the charming mix of history and modern amenities make this a great choice for anyone. The yard also feels like a sanctuary, and completely private, all while being seconds away from access to main roads. 2 thumbs up to Judith and this lovely, historic property.

A wonder get-away!

Our family had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the cottage. The home is quite spacious, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and perfect for creating family meals. We loved the pool and used it everyday. I was particularly impressed and inspired by the grounds and the gorgeous plants throughout the property. I would LOVE to say here again. The only slight downside is the noise from the road, but we barely heard it when we were in the house. If that kind of thing bothers you, maybe bring a fan our other white-noise option.

It was wonderful to stay in this wonderfully restored historic mansion. We loved the location and easy access to the surrounding areas. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable. The check in and out process was simple and straightforward. We would definitely stay here again.

Good location and clean!

The house was very clean! Had everything we needed and was in a good location for all our needs! We loved the history of the house and all the buildings around! Very spacious!! We have 6 kids (7 and under) and they all absolutely loved it and had room to play! The owner was VERY good to work with! Would love to rent again one day!

Weekend stay at historic hide-away

Great experience renting and spending a beautiful fall weekend with friends at this lovely historic home. The host was very helpful and responsive. We canceled our dinner plans out just so we could eat in and enjoy more time together in this unique and cozy house.

• ENTRY: the front door is equipped with keyless entry.
• KITCHEN: equipped with basic cooking and baking needs such as drip coffee maker, a started coffee essentials, microwave, toaster, dishwasher/dishwasher detergent/ dish soap, table ware for 8 guests, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, basic spices, sugar, condiments, cooking oil, selection of teas.
• FIRST AID kit: located in the kitchen, In the drawer under the microwave.
• FIRE EXTINGUISHERS: several are located throughout the house: next to the stove in the kitchen, next to the washer\dryer unit upstairs, by the Master bedroom fireplace.
• CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS: there are several detectors throughout the house.
• CABLE TV & INTERNET: Free high speed internet / WIF & cable TV. The network access is posted in the kitchen, living room and master bedroom.
• HEATING\COOLING: the house is on three, individually controlled heating/ cooling system as follows:
• LINENS: there will be plenty of freshly washed linens, towels, blankets in each of the three bedrooms. In addition, for the months when the pool is open beach towels are also provided.
• Private POOL: open between May 1st – September 31st.
