Home was beautiful and just as described!

The property was perfect for our family weekend. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax. I would definitely recommend this property if you're ever in the area.

Great vacation!

Vacation was so fun! A definite change from our hot Florida weather! Cabin was spacious and fit our family fine. Close to Beech and Sugar mountain.

Quick Get Away

Awesome time snow tubbing at nearby Hawksnest. Very nice place to getaway for a few days. Close to Boone. Property was great for a large group with lots of space for everyone.

Great setup for multiple couples

This property has a fantastic layout and configuration for multiple families or couples. Plenty of space with dedicated full baths for all the bedrooms. The home could use a little maintenance here and there but overall a good fit for a couples getaway.

App State Graduation Weekend 12/22

This was the perfect location for celebrating our daughters’ graduation from Appalachian. The house is beautifully decorated, clean and provided ample space for my extended family. We were impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked with cooking essentials as well as the seating areas in the kitchen and dining room that could accommodate large groups. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is planning a visit to Boone.

Beautiful house!

This was a great place to stay! It was so beautiful. Had so much room. It had everything you could ask for. Board games,Xbox,TV’s in every room. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Beds were very comfortable. I could say so much more. You won’t be disappointed. It’s huge and so beautiful

Plenty of room

We have a family of 16 and was enough room for us (4 under) however I would suggest they get a new house keeper. They they verified through email that there was a “crib” but it was a pack and play in the garage that wasn’t in what I thought was clean condition.

Family Vacation 2024

Overall it was a good stay. There were some issues with the house, some of the things that were advertised were not working such as fireplace being out of gas (came the day we left to refill), 1 shower did not work and pull out sofa was broken among other things. Three of our grandchildren had to go to doctors when we got home, they broke out in a rash from the bacteria in the hot tub. The owners were really nice when I reported our issues and we were told they would look into it and get back with us. We have not heard back.

Nice property

Enjoyed our stay. Property had the basics we were looking for. Good amount of bedrooms, nice spacious living area and kitchen. Relatively clean. I will warn people of the driveway. It's a steep gravel drive. Our large SUV did fine but our friend's mini van had some issues. Also the carpet in the lower level may have been clean but it looked very dirty and stained. The space though was nice for group tv watching and we enjoyed the pool table. Enjoyed some visiting deer as we sat on the deck.

Family fun

We had a great time at this house. So many memories. Getting up there is a little hard but you can with a car and truck. Janet was very nice and anytime we called with questions she responded fast. The home has a lot of space for everyone. There is a workout going up and down the stairs LOL. Only issues it smells like a cat was living downstairs and the carpet needs cleaning. We found millions of candy wrappers in the couch a under one of the beds. Most likely kids eating at night. We loved the views from the deck. Would love to stay there again!

Great stay!

Beautiful, comfortable, clean, fun house! We liked the secluded, woodsy feel of the property. The adults especially enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning sipping our coffee and again in the evening watching the sunset. It was very relaxing. The teens enjoyed the hot tub. The house was well appointed... games, movies, kitchen supplies. The teens enjoyed the pool table and having their own space in the game room hang out. We played outdoor games in the gravel driveway. The house was a great fit and made us feel at home. We hiked a nearby waterfall, went tubing and took a ride on the mountain coaster. Boone is nearby and we spent sometime shopping and strolling the town. It was an exciting and relaxing weekend of quality time!

Tweetsie Christmas Getaway

Janet was a fabulous host! The home was absolutely beautiful and we could not have asked for a better location. It was so convenient to everywhere - Tweetsie, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain - we didn’t have to travel too far for anything. The home is exactly as pictured and more. We went the weekend before Thanksgiving and we’re thrilled to already see the Christmas decorations were up. Everything was thought out so well. We had a family of 9 and had more then enough room for everyone to have their own beds, ample bathroom space, and room for our family to all sit together and watch our 2.5 year old play. The hot tub was an added bonus and while we went out each night the kitchen has more than what you’ll need for your stay. Janet and her husband have thought of everything. I promise you will not be disappointed if you stay here. Our family has already said we will be staying here again when we come back to Boone!

A white a Christmas

Our family had a blast here and had plenty of room to spread out on 3 floors. I saw so many reviews about the driveway we were nervous but it was nothing. It’s gravel and not all of us had 4wd but made it up fine. Leaving was more tricky because we had 4-5 inches of snow. Several of us got to sled (on a neighboring property) as this yard is very steep. The house was cozy and decorated for Christmas which gave the feel we hoped for. We would rent again. My only complaint would be the hot tub was dirty (big pieces of debris on the bottom) so we didn’t get to use that but that seems like the cleaning crew being lazy. The family that stays downstairs should be hot blooded as it’s much cooler in the basement than the top two floors.

Cute-A few Issues

House was beautiful. Great for large family gatherings. A couple issues: the oven is SO finicky. It took multiple trys and holding the door in to get it to work properly. Downstairs bathroom in the game room-the shower did not work at all. So one family did not have a shower. They could not get a maintence person out to fix it until after we left. The yard is non existent. We had multiple young kids and they had no where to play outside. One side of the yard is over a steep cliff-def something to be aware of with littles. Overall nice house but for our family it would not be a house we rent again.

GORGEOUS "CABIN", GREAT LOCATION

Beautiful home, comfortable, lots of room and great location. Thirty minute drive or less in every direction takes you to everything you could want to do: ski, ice skate, snow tubing, alpine roller coaster, hiking, shopping, Mast General Store, restaurants parks and playgrounds. The only steep hill to get there is the short driveway. Well stocked...there was even a big, beautifully decorated Christmas tree with lots of lights! Stayed with my children and grandchildren and each "family" had their own bedroom and bathroom. We spent a lot of time in the home just enjoying playing games and the hot tub and the cozy ambiance. There are lots of games and videos provided for both kids and adults. One unique quality...the house was solid and quiet...couldn't hear the noise and footsteps from the upper floors like every other cabin we have ever rented. We all agreed we want to stay here again!

House was beautiful. Loft was open so it was great for the kids. Plenty of room. Well stocked. 15 mins to Boone, 35 mins to Blowing Rock. 50 mins to Lynnville. Clean and well decorated.

This place was amazing! Nine adults and two infants and we still had room for more. Prime location. I will definitely be staying here again and they host Kesha was awesome.!! 5 Star Place for sure.

Beautiful and spacious cabin

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mountainside Vilas. The cabin was very comfortable, spacious and well maintained; it had a very secluded feel despite being in close proximity to Boone for shopping / restaurants. Host communication was great - from reaching out to make sure we were able to find the cabin as we arrived a bit later than expected to quickly resolving and keeping us informed with updates when an unexpected issue with one of the air conditioner units occurred. The hot tub and pool table were nice additions to have. We’ll definitely look to stay here again when we next visit the area!

Mostly everything was perfect!

The house size was great! It offered everything we asked for. However it’s really a 4 bedroom-not a 5 bedroom house. The loft beds offer zero privacy! The hot tub- small but that’s ok- would have been great but was filthy when we checked in. Called the property manager and he did come and put chemicals in it- two days later! So we did enjoy the hot tub our last night’s stay. The house was somewhat clean upon arrival…. The cleaning crew was still there when we arrived so we didn’t get into the house until 4:25 or so. No problem there, really. But one of the guests found his TV remote control under the bed, along with a years worth of dust. Also many of the lights had burnt out bulbs. We mentioned this also to the property manager but we never received any bulbs for replacement. Then the trash…. The previous renters left all their trash! All of it! And even though it was in cans it wasn’t bagged, as requested! So we did the right thing with our own trash and bagged it all. But we had nowhere to place it as both cans were full! So we did what the previous people did and left the trash bags out front of the garage, next to the full bins!! Other than those complaints, the house was perfectly sized for our group, had all the kitchen appliances we needed, and really was beautiful! Perfect number of bathrooms as well! Really a nice place to stay!

Winter Wonderland

This was a semi-last minute family trip in search of snow with a scenic cabin. This place delivered, 8 inches of snow our first night. Sleds on property, kids were in heaven. Cabin was beautiful and the perfect size for our family of 12. Well supplied kitchen for cooking big meals ever night. Centrally located for tubing, skiing, ice skating, and snowboarding. Hot tube was a great bonus, with great views. Was a great experience, would definitely come again!
