We opened Nature's Getaway Nordegg in November 2021! A peaceful getaway with all the comforts of home, and some special touches that let you appreciate nature to the fullest. Snuggle up with a book near the fireplace or sit out on the deck with nothing but the sounds of nature all around you, or explore and have an outdoor adventure! This tranquil cabin will remind you of what is really important in life and allow you to reconnect. Comfort, peace and relaxation are the hallmarks of this cabin!
There is also a second cabin, The Quiet Deer Cabin available at Nature's Getaway, as well. Perfect for a larger family getaway!

Great Trail Riding weekend!

We truly enjoyed the weekend here. It was very peaceful, the cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The trails were very close by, we could take the ATV’s right from the house to the trails when we wanted. Another highlight was the outdoor kitchen and fire pit. We would definitely recommend this place!

Oasis in the mountains

Our group of four had a lovely stay in this perfect setting, forest all around us, sunshine through the trees and all the comforts of home in our spacious cabin. Not a detail was missed and the kitchen had everything. The large deck included a deck fire pit table, large hot tub, barbecue and many seating options. A perfect get-away!

Extended family getaway

My parents, my brother and his wife and my family of 4 stayed in this lovely cabin. Beautiful space to relax and visit both inside and out. Many fun lawn games to play, beautiful cool house. Close to so many beautiful hikes.

Amazing stay!

We went to the cozy bear cabin for a weekend getaway with friends for my husbands 40th birthday. It was a great time! Tanya was so accommodating! Very clean, comfortable and the property is beautiful! Would recommend.

Cozy Cabin

Overall this cabin and property is pretty spectacular. I’d highly recommend to anyone who enjoys the outdoors. The common area behind the cabins is huge and there is a trail back to Shanda Creek. Everything was there and more hot tub, bbq, outdoor propane and wood fireplaces, horse shoes. Hosts were easy to communicate with. Check in at this property is 4pm.

Calm and relaxing weekend

The cabin was clean and well prepared for our arrival. Lots of nice old school entertainment inside which we enjoyed all weekend. Nice hiking trail right out of the backyard . Highly recommended! The perfect gateway!

Amazing property and host

I booked my staff in the Cozy Bear cabin for two nights. I had also scheduled Tanya to facilitate a couple team building workshops for us. We had a very impactful, bonding experience with her and each other. She is an amazing person who cares about her property and how she develops and delivers her workshops. I would book there again in a heartbeat.

Perfect Stay!

This property is stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the perks of the property (hot tub, cook house, firepit, surrounding land) as well as some lovely day trips, but always enjoyed coming back "home". Pride in ownership is evident. Tanya and Jerry went above and beyond, exceeding our expectations of a host. This little piece of paradise left us grounded, relaxed, and rejuvenated. We will cherish the memories made here and hope to return again some day. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone traveling to the Nordegg area - it will not disappoint!

Renters beware

This property was beautiful and the cabin cozy ! Unfortunately with the cost associated, the unrealistic expectations of the hosts, lack of privacy and overall cleaniness being subpar it made for a very difficult stay!! Overall not a great experience, renters beware!!

Quiet Mountain Setting

We were very grateful for the accommodations we had experienced. a very nice quiet location, with many amenities we did not have time to take advantage of, such as hot tub and the cookhouse. The hosts were very kind in providing such a clean and well equipped place. We had hoped to cross-country ski, however the conditions were not favourable, so the host provided us with cramp-0ns so we could do some winter hiking. Thanks very much, Jerry and Tanya!

Canadian Rockies Family Vacation

We loved our 4-night stay in Nordegg! We started in Calgary for 5 nights — Stampede!! After visiting Calgary, we wanted a place that we could drive to Jasper, and my husband found this hidden treasure in Nordegg! It’s a beautiful drive! We also golfed at the 100 year old golf course in Nordegg and some of us rode electric bikes all around the beautiful trails! Tanya and Jerry were wonderful hosts and helped us quickly with all of our needs! We would definitely recommend this VRBO! From here, we are going to Banff, Lake Louise, Lake Moraine, Canmore and whatever else we can see in these beautiful Canadian Rockies!!

The Perfect Family Getaway

Between the amazing scenery, the comfortable accommodations, variety of activities and the amazing hosts, this family vacation ended up exceeding any expectations we had! To start, Tanya and Jerry were the most welcoming hosts who regularly checked in on our needs and were available with any questions or requests we had. Their property was immaculate, from the cleanliness of the cabins to the groomed yard and landscaping. The cabins, tucked into the trees, were comfortable, and while another family was staying in the neighbouring cabin, it still felt like we had private space in the yard to enjoy with our family. The location was what brought us to The Cozy Bear at Nature’s Getaway and it as well exceeded our expectations. We were looking for somewhere to be out in nature, near water and near the mountains, and Nordegg offered that. We loved the available hiking options and thoroughly enjoyed our day spent at Abraham Lake. With so many more activities and experiences to be had, we know we will be back to the area and won’t hesitate to rebook with Nature’s Getaway!

Gateway to the mountains

Overall a great stay, we did a lot of day trips and great to come back to the spa, BBQ for dinner. We were a bit disappointed with the overwhelming smell of sulphur from the water, gagging in the shower with lingering smell through the whole house. No mention of this prior. Bottled drinking water was provided though. On a minor point, 4p.m. is too late for check in. Make it 2p.m. like everywhere else so you have the afternoon to enjoy, at over $500 a day with all the taxes, cleaning and service fees, it's a shame to lose a day.

I am fortunate to be doing life with my best friend and life partner Jerry, in Nordegg! I am also a mom to 4 incredible young adults and 2 adorable Labradoodles, Bentley and Boomer! :)
To share the love of the outdoors and the value getting out into nature can bring into people’s lives, we started Nature's Getaway Nordegg! We love being active in the outdoors, giving back to the people and things that mean the most, and trying to live life to the fullest!
Along with this new venture of starting an outdoor experience vacation rental, my purpose is to help leaders show up to be their best! So, when not focusing on this I can be found doing some incredible leadership mentoring & consulting!
