This unique, log cabin is nested in the trees on 5 acres and is immersed in nature with a style all its own. This 1-bedroom cabin is the perfect getaway for couples. The main room is open concept with all the amenities of home. Climb the spiral staircase that leads to the cozy loft bedroom. Enjoy the private dock, cool off with a swim or take the kayaks out on the beautiful private lake to watch the amazing sunsets. Watch the stars from the hot tub or snuggle up by the outdoor fire.

Quiet getaway

The property was just as described on the website: the stairs are steep, alright, but that gives it that tiny house vibe.The property was not cleaned to my standards but the owner quickly rectified the problem (apparently had just changed cleaning staff). The location was perfect for vositvisitRiding Mountain and Elkhorn Spa.

Absolutely perfect for a romantic and private getaway

The cabin is equipped with everything you might need for a sweet getaway surrounded by nature. We appreciated the kitchenware and appliances, the big TV and good wifi connection, but mostly the silence and peace at this cozy corner. Beautiful place!

It is a small cabin nestled in the trees - short walk to the small lake - you cannot see the lake from the cabin - Other than that everyhting else was perfect for us and our stay!

July get away

We were looking for a quiet private place to unwind and this was it. We enjoyed the hot tub and deck. We had a fire and sat out there looking for stars. It was a wonderful 3 night stay!

Cozy cabin at Sand Lake

We really enjoyed our stay at the cozy cabin at Sand Lake, MB. The hosts were friendly, welcoming and promptly available to answer our questions. We enjoyed the hot tub, was ready to use, at the perfect temperature. We enjoyed the Air conditioning in the cabin and sitting by the fire at night.

Peaceful Getaway

Such a cute unique cabin in the woods. It was amazing that such a small space could contain absolutely everything you would need for a cozy, relaxing getaway. The place smelled fresh and clean when we walked in and the hot tub was perfect.

A truly quaint cabin! They have put so much into a small space. The setting is so peaceful. The hot tub is excellent. Just a note though: if you choose to stay here you need to be able to climb very tight and steep stairs to the bedroom.

Lovely get away cabin

Location is fabulous, surrounded by trees with privacy. Close to the TransCanada trail and RMNP. The staircase is tight but doable. The sheets and towels need replacing. The information book could contain more info on how the hot tub, and induction plate works. We thought the $100 cleaning fee was high for the size of the cabin. The appliances were in need of a cleaning when we arrived. Overall I would recommend this cabin.

Fantastic Property

Our only regret about booking this property is that we weren’t able to stay longer! The cabin is super cute and very well-appointed. We had everything we needed for the stay. The location is quiet, private, and lovely. We loved the private lake access and took advantage of the kayaks provided. The lake is quiet and the water was warm and enjoyable. While the cabin is nicely secluded it is just a short drive to Clear Lake where there’s lots to do. The hot tub was also great! The driving directions the hosts provided were clear and communication with them was easy. Highly recommended this property!

Gear stay near riding mountain

Cozy cabin to spend a few days while visiting riding mountain. Wonderful cabin to relax in and just a few minute walk to enjoy a nice quiet lake too.

Great winter getaway

The cabin was cute and cozy, with all the amenities you need for your stay. Hot tub was at the perfect temp and ready to go. Bird feed provided was a nice touch and lovely to watch in the morning with the sunrise. A great spot for a quiet vacation, and only a short drive away from RMNP. Would definitely come again.

2 night getaway

Beautiful location amid the Manitoba prairies. Located just outside Riding Mountain Park. The tiny cabin met our needs. The only downside was the very narrow winding stairway to the loft.

Great little getaway from the city!

Beautiful cabin at the edge of Riding Mountain National Park. Great place to use as a point to venture from to Assessipi, Klar So. Everything in the cabin that's needed, coffee maker, toaster oven, double hotplate, and barbeque outside. And of course the hottub. We also really liked the large selection of DVDs. This place came recommended by a friend, and I don't regret having a little getaway here.

Special spot!

We had a lovely time at this cabin. Really appreciated how pretty and clean it was and the hosts were friendly. Loved the deck with a great view of the forest and good grill for bbq-ing. We thought it was right on the lakeshore but had a short walk to get to it. Sometimes had to pass a barking dog. But all in all it is a great spot for a vacation!

More details about access to the loft would be good as we are both 60 and climbing the tight spiral stairs to the loft was not possible for my wife and she had to sleep on the couch. I managed the climb but didnt feel safe doing so. The cover photo was a bit misleading and a more accurate one should be used. I thought I would have a dock to fish off of within walking distance.

Beautiful Rustic Cottage with All The Amenities

We were thrilled with the property. Exactly as shown in photographs. Private dock is short 2-3 minute walk away. Beautiful modern kitchen equipped with all the small appliances you need. Very Clean. Private and very quiet. Enjoyed the hot tub, large BBQ and fire pit. Lake was beautiful and clean. Property owners stop by once to check the hot tub; were incredibly friendly and helpful. Note: Access to the loft was on very narrow, winding staircase and only appropriate for teens or adults with no mobility issues. Also note, shower is located outside of bathroom area and, while it is frosted glass, requires privacy in the cabin while showering unless wearing a swimsuit. Would definitely return and plan to!

Nice little get away

As far as location goes, if you are looking for a nice quiet getaway from all the noise of the city, this is an excellent place to come. The location is about 15 mins from Clear Lake and the Elkhorn spa. Why spend way more to stay onsite when you can have your own private cabin with a hot tub on the front porch? We give location a 5-star rating. As for the cabin it is on the smaller size, small kitchen, living space along with your own personal shower in the living room LOL - to be honest we embraced the fact that we probably would never shower in another living room again, and enjoyed it. The water was hot and the pressure was just fine. The stairs leading up to the loft bedroom aren't described well enough for me. I'm a larger guy, and climbing up what should be described as a spiral ladder, was a challenge. But again we just embraced the uniqueness of the experience.There are only two items I can't embrace. The first is the 100 cleaning fee. We have stayed in a ton of VRBO places across the globe, and this was the first time I felt the cleaning fee was a little gougy (if that's not a word it is now). We did all our dishes, stripped the linen and piled all of the laundry into the laundry basket provided (as instructed), so besides cleaning the shower and "maybe" a quick sweep, there wasn't anything to clean. The only other issue is with the title. The main cabin is lake front, this cabin is not, so it's a little misleading. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves!!

Misleading Depiction of “Lakefront”

My husband and I went on a get away for our 10th Anniversary, although we did enjoy our stay, the description was not what was portrayed in the advertisement. They advertise lakefront, and well yes the property is lake front, the owners have a separate house on the lakefront, for us to get to it, we had to walk down the driveway, along the fence beside their property, and down to the water with a shared dock, the outdoor shower was viewable from their deck, and we didn’t feel comfortable being down there knowing they could come at any point, none of this was mentioned in the Ad on VRBo. They also have a large dog that roams free, and while we are dog people and love them, some people might not feel comfortable being barked at as they pass by to get to the dock. The hot tub was nice, the fire pit area was nice although there was a lot of dog poop surrounding it. We envisioned waking up, making coffee and sitting on a private dock in the mornings, but did not get todo that. The spiral staircase is very narrow, we are average built people, but larger people would have a lot of trouble using the stairs..

Lakefront Cabin

If this property was accurately described I would give it a 10/10. Unfortunately the description of the property is a bit misleading. The cabin is not lakefront. It is on a property that is lakefront but you can’t see the lake from the cabin location. The owners home is lakefront and you have to walk past their home to access the lake and dock. You also share the dock with the owners which is not described in the listing. We are private people and because of this we never used the dock as it is visible from the owners home. If the property was properly listed we would not have rented it as it is not lakefront. As for the cabin it is very clean and modern. The hosts have provided everything that you would need. One issue that isn’t mentioned in the listing is the access to the loft. It is more like a spiral ladder and I could see a lot of people not comfortable trying to climb up and down it. I believe this should be described in the listing. The shower is in the living area and this could also be awkward for some people. The hosts communicated with us during our stay which we appreciated. As I mentioned I would give this property a 9 or10 out of 10 if it was listed properly. In our case if it had been listed properly we would not have been guests here. If you are looking for a cozy quiet spot to get away this is an ideal location. If you are looking for a cabin on the lake with lake views and direct access then this isn’t the place for you.
